Re: Hickinbotham "Coast Estate" Seaford Rise 65May 09, 2013 12:40 pm Awesome! Noice Slab!! How very exciting... It's all happening now! They usually like Slabs to sit and cure for 3 weeks, but in all honesty, you hear of them being built on after a week. I have no idea how this affects it, but I know 3 weeks is ideal. Keeping it as dry as possible.. Re: Hickinbotham "Coast Estate" Seaford Rise 67May 09, 2013 12:56 pm They did with mine, because it was poured in Late July and was a particularly wet winter that year. Some houses they dont... depends on the builder really. Yeah it means for it to set and adhere properly. Might look dry within 24 hours, but it needs to really find its form and strengthen. Thats just what I have heard... I have no idea of their decision making process in regard to it. As I said, some builders dont cover them at all, some cover them for 48 hours, then take it off... some leave it on for a week. I dont think it'd be that detrimental given the amount of variance between methods. If it was there'd be some sort of code they'd all have to adhere to.
