Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Request for Perth builder experiences 6Sep 10, 2008 12:55 am lloydmav We are building with Scott Park Homes, they seem like a quality builder which is why we went with them. We have had a few issues where we just feel they are taking too long etc But the quality seems good. Problem I see with Scott Park Homes is they seem to have a heck of a lot of people building with them and I get the impression their site supervisors are having to balance a lot of homes which causes issues. Dale Alcock seem like a top quality builder and I would certainly consider them for my next build. Blueprint homes look a bit cheap in comparison. Their homes are very basic and lower spec We thought the same about Dale Alcock before we began - in fact, had a few reports from people who had built with them in the past (3 years ago or longer) who thought they were excellent. I know a couple who are dealing with their Home Improvement section at the moment who are also struggling. True what you say about volume, but i think with the building approval rate dropping this is steadily improving whichever company you build with, and I think it also depends on the suburb you are building in and availability of trades in these suburbs. We built for the first time over the 2005/2006 build boom and it took us 18months. A trade would turn up for a day, then disappear for weeks on end. Nothing was ever on time. Last time the build was with BGC (ew - never, never ever again) but the story was the same for almost everyone. Now though, once the build began and we got through all the shire shenanigans, it's been really speedy. What took BGC 6 or 8 months to achieve has taken Scott Park around 9 weeks. We had our slab down on 1 July and our electrician has just been and done the wiring, roof timbers are up and the colourbond has been delivered for the roof. Super impressed! Hopefully the good work continues Building the Grand Harmony Triple with Scott Park Homes 1) I had requested R6 ceiling insualtion batts, however I noticed that on some areas there are huge gaps which will allow hot air to sweep in, and also noticed black/grey… 0 3597 You have mandatory building inspections and privately engaged building inspections.
