Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 23, 2008 2:46 am Hi All
Does anyone have any experience with or know the reputation of the following companies in WA: 1. Blueprint Homes 2. McGrath Homes 3. Summit Projects 4. Scott Park Homes 5. Dale Alcock Homes I just want to know of other people's experiences with them, such end quality and commitment to the client after the contract is signed. Any help would be most appreciated. Re: Request for Perth builder experiences 2Apr 26, 2008 11:16 pm Hi,
We are building with Dale Alcock at the moment and we have had no end of problems! It has been a very stressful and disappointing process! Not a positive reply for you but honest! Hope you find someone your happy with! regards. ![]() Re: Request for Perth builder experiences 3Apr 27, 2008 5:45 pm I know someone who built with scott park, * and summit. 2 had bad experiences, not sure about the 3rd will PM you when I find out more details. Re: Request for Perth builder experiences 4Sep 07, 2008 4:32 pm I know this may be a little late but Don't go the Dale Alcock route - they're supposed to have one of the best reputations but we had a terrible experience with them, wasted 7 months of our life on a home they could not be approved by Shire - despite providing them with the appropriate title information etc at the very beginning.
We pulled the pin at the last moment and refused to re-negotiate, they released us from contract and we subsequently signed up with Scott Park. A few small hiccups with them at the Shire stage but so far, so good. We're now at the roof frame stage and very happy with the progress since the build began. Quality seems good too. Building the Grand Harmony Triple with Scott Park Homes Re: Request for Perth builder experiences 5Sep 09, 2008 1:59 am We are building with Scott Park Homes, they seem like a quality builder which is why we went with them. We have had a few issues where we just feel they are taking too long etc But the quality seems good.
Problem I see with Scott Park Homes is they seem to have a heck of a lot of people building with them and I get the impression their site supervisors are having to balance a lot of homes which causes issues. Dale Alcock seem like a top quality builder and I would certainly consider them for my next build. Blueprint homes look a bit cheap in comparison. Their homes are very basic and lower spec Lloyd Re: Request for Perth builder experiences 6Sep 10, 2008 1:55 am ![]() We are building with Scott Park Homes, they seem like a quality builder which is why we went with them. Their homes are very basic and lower spec We thought the same about Dale Alcock before we began - in fact, had a few reports from people who had built with them in the past (3 years ago or longer) who thought they were excellent. I know a couple who are dealing with their Home Improvement section at the moment who are also struggling. True what you say about volume, but i think with the building approval rate dropping this is steadily improving whichever company you build with, and I think it also depends on the suburb you are building in and availability of trades in these suburbs. We built for the first time over the 2005/2006 build boom and it took us 18months. A trade would turn up for a day, then disappear for weeks on end. Nothing was ever on time. Last time the build was with BGC (ew - never, never ever again) but the story was the same for almost everyone. Now though, once the build began and we got through all the shire shenanigans, it's been really speedy. What took BGC 6 or 8 months to achieve has taken Scott Park around 9 weeks. We had our slab down on 1 July and our electrician has just been and done the wiring, roof timbers are up and the colourbond has been delivered for the roof. Super impressed! Hopefully the good work continues ![]() Building the Grand Harmony Triple with Scott Park Homes We came across your post and it mirrors our situation. Have you progressed in the interim and would you have any advice for us?
