Hi all,
We are a few weeks away from PCI and whilst most things are going very well and anything that needs to be fixed is done quickly we seem to be going back and forth with our SS over the skirting board in the garage. I am hoping there is a building inspector around that could point us in the right direction.
I was originally told that the skirting in the garage would be 10mm above the base of the garage floor to allow for any water run off that might happen in the garage (ie if we ever hosed out the garage, which tbh I can't see us ever doing, but each to their own), however as the photo below shows it is more then 10mm - in fact it isn't even the same the whole way around, the other two walls are at 10mm and then this last wall has this crazy change in height. We questioned the SS over this and firstly he said it is correct because it follows the level of the slab, now he has said that in fact the whole lot needs to risen to the higher level which looks to be about 50mm.
We would prefer the skirting in the garage to be only 10mm off the ground but the SS is refusing to do this saying the garage is a wet area and if it was any lower then the skirting will bulge. Is our request unreasonable or should the SS drop the skirting?
