Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 22, 2008 7:36 pm To cut to the chase, when we purchased out lot from STockland, the main contract included over 50 pages of the planning permit issued by the local council. Does this mean I will not have to apply for one myself seeing that Stockland had aleready included one in the Land contract?
Is anyone familiar with stockland developments & can confirm this? thanks in advance to all! Re: Planning Permit -Stockland Development e.g. Monterey Central 2Apr 22, 2008 7:44 pm Sounds to me that this is the planning permit that Stocklands issued to the council for the land to be developed. I'd say your builder would still need to seek a planning permit to ensure that the house is in keeping with the original intent of the overall estate planning permit and what the council expects the estate to looks like.
At least that's the way it worked when I purchased in Wyndham...although that was a few years ago....this was a Stockland development. I'm hoping that that's not actually 50 pages of covenants..... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Planning Permit -Stockland Development e.g. Monterey Central 3Apr 22, 2008 8:00 pm I would check with your Council if they require one. I didn't require a planning permit for my build (yay!) Dana -------------------------- Building with DFH - carpet installed! I didn't require a planning permit for my build (yay!) Sorry about that...I just happen to have my documents out as I'm selling the property and checked....we got a "planning exemption" because we wanted to change the set back for the garage...not a planning permit. Was eight years ago....sorry again.... mmm....donuts Homer Simpson 1956- Links: Site Costs Ready Reckoner | H1 Addiction Medical Advice | Château TDL: The Backyard Re: Planning Permit -Stockland Development e.g. Monterey Central 5Apr 22, 2008 8:39 pm The planning permit you have in your contract is most likely the planning permit to subdivide the land, not for the actual building of the house. Depending on the size of your block you may or may not actually need a planning permit, just a building permit, which your builder will obtain. Re: Planning Permit -Stockland Development e.g. Monterey Central 6Apr 23, 2008 1:48 pm I agree with ifyareckon.
When we purchased a block with Stockland at MOnterey Central, our builder applied for the building permit... and that was it. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping!
