They couldn't care less about this little 'issue'. 31st January is the day!! I will report back Re: RedInk, Baldivis - Moved In, finishing off - Pics 1162Jan 21, 2014 11:04 pm I drove past your house a couple of days ago Charlie. Hubby drove down the road and I recognised the front windows. Looks fantastic I had karndean planks at our old house and vacuumed and steam cleaned them (low steam) often. The glue doesn't come up unless you heat it a lot. Just be light with vacuuming. I used the roomba at least twice a day without issue, but will be careful with the upright dyson when the new house is done ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! Our exhaust fans are the "self closing" ones, so not sure if the standard ones would actually make the awful "thwacking" noise. Apparently the original paver had promised to come & fix it but then not shown up & made excuses. Still waiting for cabinet makers to ring me & align all my cupboards, replace the 2 damaged cupboards & make some sense of my microwave recess. AC has been looked at again, due to an E3 fault. There is a small gas leak which is now a warranty repair job, and most likely no one to sort it out until Feb. Thankfully the AC works as it. Just as an aside for any of you who are building with RI & getting AF to do the AC. Make sure that you hose & brush the back of the unit (obviously turn it off at the wall) because the sand appears to get stuck to the coils & makes the unit not work efficiently & you don't want to be whacked with a $180 call out fee for the guy to hose off your unit.....:S Having been in for 4 weeks now, I have found lots of stuff that annoys me...in partcular the paint. I have gloss frames that are very poorly done - I can see the metal through the "paint", then the walls look like a waterfall was used to brush the paint onto the walls & left to dry. I also hate the self closing exhaust fans with a passion.... Otherwise I am very happy with my house Our RedInk Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64118&p=1004131#p1004131 ** Timeline Page 1 Moved In - 19.12.13 Re: RedInk, Baldivis - Moved In, finishing off - Pics 1167Jan 24, 2014 6:25 pm Thanks for giving the insight into post-handover Charlie, seems the 'build' doesn't just end at handover with the ongoing issues that remain. Will you get them to repaint the frames at maintenance? I am guessing they are the door frames but doesn't sound like a look you would want for your house. I will probably bring it up & see what they say. I guess other than that there isn't much I can do LOL I forgot to add that I am also still waiting on: * NBN door to be replaced * Silver Powerpoint cover * Reimbursement of $100 from the TV point that needed to be fixed I don't think it all ends when you get the keys, it keeps going & going & going!!! Last one.... RI as previously discussed ordered the wrong microwave, because apparently the cabinet maker made the recess for the stand alone microwave....well NOPE, he actually did was he was supposed to do & RI stuffed up an ordered the wrong microwave...so finally after 10 weeks we have the correct microwave at the house BUT now have to wait for someone to come & install it..... Also cabinet maker didn't want to install a self closer & his idea was to replace the non fixed cupboard with a fixed panel (this is what was on the addenda) so I told CLO to forget about it we will find our own closer & keep the extra storage space! Mr Charlie & I put up our garden shed 3 weeks ago now, so will have to post some pics. Finally managed to get the garage cleaned out enough to park my car inside. Have had attic stairs installed as well & have hung some pics - so will get some pics of that as well. I don't know if I could EVER build in WA again - Wait Awhile or Wait Ages is very apt when building here. We have had an E3 error since we moved in. Installer sent 2 young blokes out & they couldn't find a fault. Just said it was one of those things, blah, blah. Kept having the fault, mind you it did it on the 43c day...not happy having no form of cooling. Rang installer again & supervisor came out, you have a slow gas leak that's a warranty call. Is that causing the E3 error, well ummmm, don't know...this was mid Jan. So I have been waiting for 4 weeks for Daikin to contact me to no avail..rang Installer...um, have you put in the Warranty issue yet? Yes, of course....more days go by no call from Daikin. Mr Charlie rings Daikin oh sorry we have no record of your warranty call!!!??? 2 days later Daikin ring, Installer only put in Warranty claim for the gas leak that day. Daikin guy shows up yesterday to have a look at the "leak", he says well this isn't an issue. OK, so will that not cause the E3 error....what E3 error?...the one we have had since we moved in....there is nothing on the warranty claim about an E3 error........ARRRGGGGGHHHHHHHHH! So he had no idea poor bloke, came back today & we may have a faulty sensor or it may be that O2 has been introduced into the AC gas.....so we are gettinng a new sensor to see if that is the issue & if it isn't god knows what Daikin will have to do to rectify the AC unit...... :S Our RedInk Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64118&p=1004131#p1004131 ** Timeline Page 1 Moved In - 19.12.13 Re: RedInk, Baldivis - Moved In, finishing off - Pics 1176Feb 28, 2014 6:14 pm i have prestart coming up and wondering if i should change my kitchen to one with an island, at the moment my kitchen has the same layout as yours and i was wondering if you feel cramped in it at all? Re: RedInk, Baldivis - Moved In, finishing off - Pics 1177Mar 08, 2014 10:27 am dannislade i have prestart coming up and wondering if i should change my kitchen to one with an island, at the moment my kitchen has the same layout as yours and i was wondering if you feel cramped in it at all? We added an extra 1m between the wall & bench so there is NO chance of it being squishy! Both Mr Charlie & I can be in there & not bump / run into each other so we are happy with it. If we had of left it as it was on the plans then YES it would be squishy with 2 people in there. So more drama.....SS came out to install built in microwave & guess what????? It didn't fit! So the cabinet maker is going to have to remake the end 2 cabinets in order to get the built in microwave to fit the way it is supposed to. I have done a bunch more finishing touches, really must update pics! How did they fix your microwave recess. We kinda got a recess and thought the measurements would be fine . We where wrong . So we have a appliance cupboard at the bottom then the microwave recess then overhead . Microwave is only 470 deep they have put a vent thing at the back and I think they have 30ml behind it but still not deep enough . A lot of these inbuilt microwaves need a lot of venting for example electralux depth ie 466 and you need at least 550 . My hight is only 420 . I'm a bit screwed so might have to put it in pantry. Don't know what I'm going to put in recess as it will look funny with nothing . Just make sure you have plenty of room on all three sides Re: RedInk, Baldivis - Moved In, finishing off - Pics 1180Mar 08, 2014 11:29 am Hey there, have also just been thinking about you. Keep checking your timeline to reassure myself:-) I think we'll be on a v similar one just this year. Plans being amended in drafting now and hopefully prestart by end April. Still holding out hope to be in by Christmas but don't want to get my hopes up! Glad they're fixing the micro situation, but what a bloody ordeal. Look forward to seeing more pictures.
