Bore Completion ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ OK, I thought I should finally get myself my own thread as we are almost at Pre Start! LOL Our original journey began early last year, we picked a large 660m in the Avalon & had decided to go with Cmore Homes & the Fusion design. However that journey was fraught with issues from the start & it ended with us losing the block due to the Mortgage broker doing nothing at all to apply for any type of loan...we then cancelled the house & I fought for 3 months to get our $2k deposit back. We started again late last year & had gotten down to 4 builders / designs - Aveling's "The Brighton", Ross North's "The Boni", WA Home Group's "Mediterranean" & RedInk's "The Hamlin". We found a nice sized 630m block across from a park in the Avalon Estate which settled in March. After doing some changes and seeing how each builder responded we were left with WA Home Group & RedInk. My husband was quite happy with all the extras that were included in the WA Home Group's $50,000 worth of inclusions & he was ready to sign up. I was happy with our modifications & the costs but I had a nagging feeling that I really wanted The Hamlin. Looking back it wasn't the house design as such but the actual internal design that I fell in LOVE with. I went back to the RedInk Sales Rep & told him he had one more shot to impress us with a design & costs. After some to'ing and fro'ing we came up with below design at a cost that was equivalent to the WA Home Group's. I love my house but my one word of warning to anyone who is building, get EVERYTHING in writing. I was shown all these wonderful inclusions but they have appeared NOWHERE on my paperwork. The house design that we have settled on is officially named an "Alfresco" but it has many design elements taken from the Hamlin Display at Baldivis. Re: Our RedInk Build in Baldivis, WA 5Apr 12, 2013 8:51 pm What a great design you have created. I really like your second bathroom, recessing the shower back just creates much better space, love that!! Wow your WIP is huge, I thought mine was big!! Can I ask why you didn't centre your garage door more? Is it so you can have more storage space on that side? Just curious, we did something similar with ours. Your garage looks a similar size to what we will have also, with the roller door at the back. Love all of it. We have similar bricks, pavers, render etc on our current place - out of interest, do redink charge more for 2c bricks? I didn't pay any more for them on my little WA Housing Centre place so have found it interesting that some of the more "upmarket" builders do. Love the main bathroom
Wellard2ndtimers: I'm similar we are with Aussie and got the 2c brick standard as well as being able to pick from laminex or Formica, which some other builders charge for! And someone here has confirmed there is no real price difference. While other things we paid to upgrade like chrome wastes and a toilet that wasn't plastic! many of which we upgraded! Love the colours!! Re: Our RedInk Build in Baldivis, WA 11Apr 12, 2013 10:01 pm charlie23 Belle22 What a great design you have created. Nice HUGE walk in pantry hehe and I love your master/WIR/Ensuite layout, very well thought out. It's good that you have so much included on your plans even before you get to prestart. Only thing that I noticed that you may not have seen is the contrast render on the portico on the left meets the other coloured render on a flat wall. May or may not be an issue for you but something to think about! Re: Our RedInk Build in Baldivis, WA 16Apr 13, 2013 8:15 pm asj25 Love your plan! What brand are those planks? I have been looking at some of the loose lay... They are Karndean Loose Lay, vinyl planks. We saw them at Trevor's Carpets.
