We had to paint the house ourselves....we chose 1/2 strength dulux Tranquil Retreat for master suite/WIR & Theatre, and the rest of the house in Solver Rainforest Cloud, the flooring almost finished, we chose karndean Knight vinyl planks in Classic Limed Oak over bamboo because of the Pool with our son coming inside with wet feet & easier to maintain & Carpet in Drizzle a dark Grey/charcoal all from carpet court. Photos will be up shortly..... I think its the nagging he is staying for . ha ha .if I was him I would of gone in a heart beat . Re: Our Custom Redink Home Baldivis...Flooring PhOtOs 450Jul 04, 2014 8:46 pm What's barrow island? I'm intrigued! Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65085 Re: Our Custom Redink Home Baldivis...Flooring PhOtOs 452Jul 04, 2014 9:32 pm I prefer hubbies 2/1 roster. But we've heard money is better on barrow island. I couldn't do 4-1 roster though. We did for few months and made me little loopy hehe Re: Our Custom Redink Home Baldivis...Flooring PhOtOs 453Jul 04, 2014 9:57 pm Yeah na .as much as I think I could and sometimes relationships need a bit of space (own experience) i would go crazy. Instead I got my partner a theatre room .ha. Ha .really good money . thought it would.get my backyard quicker. Partner wasn't 100% convinced. But he would find it hard to do 2.and 1 . but in saying that when you are working 11 hrs a day maybe working away and then having that time off to spend with your family when your home is probley better . Re: Our Custom Redink Home Baldivis...Flooring PhOtOs 454Jul 04, 2014 9:58 pm EmyN What's barrow island? I'm intrigued! It's about 50km offshore from Karratha. Leanne & Melsie DF worked on barrow island last year earning good money as a plant operator on a 26/9 roster but then the job finished and there isn't as much work there as there used to be. The job he's been offered is upstream doing the pipeline on a 4/2 roster but only for 6mths work & it doesn't sound like very good money for barrow compared to what he was getting b4 but it's better than nothing. Melsie it took us 1 week to paint the house, mostly just DF & myself with my dad helping when he wasn't working & a mate helped when we used the sealer. I Hate painting too.....my hands were so sore, but we saved a lot of money. As for the Pool more work has started, they couldn't do anymore work till after handover & then the guy went on holidays. The skimmer box has been put in along with all the equipment in the pump room, so hopefully it will be finished by the end of this month. We no longer have to have a pool gate, the council said we can have a selfclosing sliding door. We are still going . and we had already had our walls sealed lol. The carpet looks the same color as mine . once you put beds in a covers .it will look great . I don't have to vacuum mine that often . I love the design of your house. That view to your pool is going to look amazing . your son is going to love it . Re: Our Custom Redink Home Baldivis...Flooring PhOtOs 457Jul 04, 2014 10:33 pm LeanneR I prefer hubbies 2/1 roster. But we've heard money is better on barrow island. I couldn't do 4-1 roster though. We did for few months and made me little loopy hehe Hey Leanne where does your hubby work? My DF would love a 2/1 roster, for the last 8 years DF has been working in construction industry as plant operator doing fifo 3/1 & 4/1 rosters. I would love for him to be home more 4/1 gets a bit much after a while & feels like everything falls on me all the time. DF originally got offered a 2wk 10day off roster working on Roy Hill as plant operator in mining industry, he had interviews with superintendent & recruiters back in jan/February & were willing to train him up on the bigger machines, he did all the inductions 3 days worth, then he finally gets up there and the supervisor decided they didn't have the time to train anyone and sent him & a few others home....except one of the blokes was able to go back because he was mates with another supervisor, that just sux......he'd knocked back other jobs too for this one so we were devastated. last year when DF was on barrow he was taking home 3200-3800 weekly, so yes very good money indeed. Thanx Melsie, we would have got RI to seal the walls if we knew they could have done it, the only thing we got quoted for was to paint & what they charge is ridiculous. We certainly can't wait to see the end result of the pool & I know my son is gonna love it OUR BUILD WITH Redink viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64097 TIMELINE & FINAL PLANS.........Page 1 SELECTIONS.......Page 2 Re: Our Custom Redink Home Baldivis...Flooring PhOtOs 460Jul 05, 2014 11:24 am kols LeanneR I prefer hubbies 2/1 roster. That would have been awesome roster... what a shame I would have been crushed too My DH isn't in construction side of things... he does management... like runs the camp site/bar/flights/accommodation etc. He is currently at West Angeles. He been lots different sites all same roster and company. He did some offshore work for about 9 months (short contract as that was how long the project took). That was 3/3 roster! was fantastic and the money was amazing!! (like $1k a day) Hi, can anyone recommend a custom home builder who can build in north east area?
