Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 10, 2013 9:36 pm Hi guys, Couldn't find a topic on Aston in Craigieburn so thought it was time to start one. Very exciting time of our lives moving into our forever home. Is there anyone else around building/built in Aston? We are building with Porter Davis an Ivanhoe 33 Cheers Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 2Apr 11, 2013 8:07 am Hi Yep we're just about to build with Henley (Monaco Nouveau Q1) when our land titles in the next few weeks (stage 7B) in fact we sign our final contracts tomorrow ... Good to see somebody else on this forum who is like minded. What stage did you buy in Sambogirl81? Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 3Apr 11, 2013 8:38 am Hey Aston boy, We have bought in stage 8b only at Easter. I'm so excited we are currently living interstate and have for the last 12 years so very excited about moving home. Was a little thrown when land developers denied access to the bank for valuation but I'm beginning to think this is normal. Craigieburn certainly isn't how I remember it to be and the plans for the new shopping centre look amazing. Lets find some more people on here Good to 'meet' you Sam Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 5Apr 11, 2013 11:57 am I had a look at your house and its beautiful, very similar layout to what we have chosen with porter Davis. When we signed contract we were told may-June but more than likely April. We are due to pay for the land by the end of next week bus as they have denied the bank access we can't apply for our loan. Did anything like this happen to you? I think being so far away doesn't help if rather be there in someone's face asking questions. We have built before and know its stressful. I hope after all this gets sorted it will be smooth sailing. Porter Davis need to start building in July and we will then have our first Christmas in our new house. How about you, when do you plan on moving on in? Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 6Apr 11, 2013 12:14 pm Sounds tricky... My guess is they can't allow access to the bank because the land has not titled yet. We don't have site costs yet for the very same reason but Henley gave us a ballpark figure at least. Unfortunately I don't know too much beyond that. We are paying cash for our land (equity from our previous house). I know that Peet require a desposit of 5% with the balance to be paid upon titling. I remember looking at an Ivanhoe 33 display... Lovely house indeed Hope it all works out in the end which I'm sure it will. Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 7Apr 15, 2013 7:38 pm Hi AstonnBoy, How did you go with your land titles? Has it happened yet? Do you mind if I ask how much your site costs were estimated at? Porter Davis have estimated $20k for us Thanks Sam Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 9Apr 27, 2013 11:28 am Hi. We are also building in aston craigieburn. Stage 7b. Mainvue home. We have settlement on the land early may. I think the titles should go through any day now. Has anyone else heard about stage 7b being titled yet? We have colour selection, tender and contract signing all booked in for our house. Contract signing is in June so we hope to be building by July and in our home by the end of the year (fingers crossed.) we realise that may be wishful thinking. It will be nice to hear the experiences of others, and use each other for questions etc. When are others hoping to move in by? How long does construction usually take? How long does it take to get approval of design from aston? How long does it take hume to do building permits? etc. Happy building Re: Building in Aston Craigieburn 10Apr 27, 2013 4:31 pm Hi and welcome emptyspace... we're in 7B (Vedro Road)... What street/lot did you buy? Good to hear from a future neighbour. We were told by PEET that titles should be any day now Given Henley can't do soil tests etc until settlement it's a bit hard to say how quick everything goes. From memory it takes PEET around 2-3 weeks to approve the plans and probably similar for building permits. However according to Henley we're hoping to have site start around late May early June I believe. I snuck up to the street today for a pic Too easy given one of the security fences had been knocked down.
