Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Wet area in ensuite 6Apr 08, 2013 11:42 am Hi screen7. Initial drawings are getting done by architect as we speak so we can see dimensions and if it's going to fit. We will probably get a small step down into the shower space. Builder said it's do-able and didn't seem to flinch when I showed him the picture. Just wanted an opinion from someone doing the same design. Not sure if there are any major problems later on with the wet area. Re: Wet area in ensuite 8Apr 08, 2013 1:25 pm Close MrsG but not quite. Go to your photobucket library page and click on the photo in question. On the right hand side click on the little arrow next to the Image Links heading then scroll down to the IMG code and click on it which means you have copied it to the clipboard. Come back to this forum and paste it into your post. You should see something like and voila the picture appears on these forums. Re: Wet area in ensuite 10Apr 08, 2013 5:39 pm Yes I was going to ask if you had considered something like above . We have a freestanding bath but the glass separates it from the shower. Even so we tanked the whole room. One thought though if you do go for a free standing bath make sure you have good clearance all the way round for cleaning. We had a claw foot bath in our pre renno home against a wall, nightmare to clean behind, and when I removed it boy was it scarey what was hidden. We immediately changed our floor plan to put the bath away from a wall, mind you our bathroom is huge so we could afford the wriggle room. I was going to get a freestanding bath but with the narrow room I would have had to have the bath up against the walls therefore I would have had the cleaning issues in behind the bath tub. So we are thinking having a bath in a hob at the end of the room. Really depends now how much the builder will charge to water proof the whole room. If it blows our budget than we might be redesigning the ensuite again. Will keep you post. Thanks for all the replies. I love your bathroom screen7. Re: Wet area in ensuite 13Apr 09, 2013 7:47 am Hi Homebody99. Our builder didn't say it was going to be more money when I showed him this plan for our ensuite. He just said that they can do it. He might now when I ask him to water proof the whole room. Our plans are currently getting drawn up so will let you know.
