Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Custom build in Madora Bay (Brick work update) 61Jul 02, 2013 2:11 pm Such a shame about the need to render such beautiful bricks, but good on the builder for noticing the defects. At least it gives you the confidence that your builder actually cares about the quality of their build. We wanted to go with Provincial Calais bricks as well, but our builder just didn't offer any two-course brick options, upgrade or not. Re: Custom build in Madora Bay (Photo update) 65Jul 28, 2013 3:25 pm Heya Mullet, Looking good and progress is motoring along! We are supposed to be starting roof timbers this week but not so sure now that the house is completely flooded. Just wondering, we noticed that your timber has a blue treatment on it? What is that for? We only have a small amount of blue wood but just wondering what the purpose is? Re: Custom build in Madora Bay (Photo update) 67Jul 28, 2013 5:08 pm I think the blue is for termites treatment ? I saw your roofing material yesterday and noticed timber and steel .Is your roof frame a metal one ? I also had a little walk through your place (hope you dont mind) and noticed your media room doors hinge outwards into the passage way, is this what you intended? Your place is looking good. Our slab is flooded too but our plasterer did a sweep on Friday and it was all gone. However later rain brought the water back but he says the walls are dry enough for grey float so once your roof is on, how much it rains will make no difference to further progress. Re: Custom build in Madora Bay (Photo update) 78Aug 14, 2013 10:43 pm Well today was color bond day. They team have made a start on the portico and dining area. It was to late and dark to get a photo. But I will get something up on Friday and hopefully it will be all done. Hope the weather is good tomorrow. Color is surf mist by the way.
