Dale Alcock Homes. 22Jun 10, 2013 1:57 pm Our roof is going on and im still looking at other people plans on here wishing i had done things differently! Its terrible but you cant help yourself! I cant remember when we chose colours? I know it was before prestart. Our plans didnt go to council till after prestart anyway. We were trying to go for a real farmhouse look so went with a colonial face brick but render does seem to be the more popular choice. I think your house would suit either. I came across you thread and was really interested to read through it, especially regarding the fact that we didn't seem to be getting back to you as much as Gemmill in the early stages (I've just passed this feedback on to the Manager). And then I saw your mention of me at the end! And of course the great news you've decided to build with us. As I'm sure you're aware, I spend a bit of time checking in on our clients via Homeone and our Facebook page, just to make sure everything is OK and going well. Also, if there's anything you need, such as the details of paint colours or tiles you've seen in display homes, then please ask away. I'm actually going away for two weeks from Friday 14 - Friday 28 June. But I will looking forward to revisiting your thread when I return. Until then - all the best! Jemima. Dale Alcock Homes. Dale Alcock Homes. 24Jun 14, 2013 8:39 pm I am sooo excited Jemima commented I've made it! (If you ever need a new Blogger or want to go part-time, give me a call haha) Any who, writing tonight cos I'm a little annoyed. My Husband and I have waited patiently for two weeks now to hear back from our Sales Consultant since we signed for the deposit. I emailed him on Tuesday night to ask where we were at and he replied straight away saying he will email me on Wednesday. Didn't hear from him at all. My Husband called him today and he said he'd him back within the hour with an update. 4 hours later he rang me at work and from my discussion with him, it sounds like nothing has been done at all! I'm so annoyed. He said it was still with the Drawing dept but then rehashed all the changes I wanted and said we would have something mid next week so by the sounds of it, it hasn't even been sent to the Drawing guys. Being first time builders we didn't know what to expect and we weren't told what was going on once we paid our deposit so I wonder if anything would have happened if we didn't call. Any who, enough of my rant. I said all along that I wouldn't get wrapped up in the whole waiting game and I'd let it take as long as it needed. I don't want to get anyone in trouble either so ill see how we go from here. It can only get better right? Dale Alcock Homes. 25Jun 19, 2013 11:35 pm Ok we're finally making traction. Received a call from our Preconstruction Coordinator today to introduce herself. She confirmed that she only received our file on Friday and that she had submitted our plans to design this week which confirmed what we thought that our Sales guy had forgotten about us. I mentioned to her that we had waited patiently for two weeks to find nothing had been done and she just said that our Sales guy was always busy. So now she says we won't get more plans until mid next week, almost four weeks after we submitted the last lot of changes. We are apparently getting a call by Friday this week from another lady with a date to book in our external colour consult. Fingers crossed the momentum keeps up. Dale Alcock Homes. 27Jun 21, 2013 9:18 pm Krrkrj Love your plan Tracyw... I keep seeing all these other plans and think they are better than mine. The only thing I really wish our plan had was a utility/drop zone but its not really going to work with our plan. We have added an extra metre into the garage so there will be enough space in front of the cars for some shelving or something. My husband tells me I have to stop looking at floor plans as I keep changing my mind and wishing I had something else. Was everyone else like this? How long after you get your final plans do you usually have to tell them your final colours so they can submit to the shire? We live 1200kms away from Perth and will need to make a trip down to have a look at some displays as we have no idea what we want our exterior to look like. Brick or render etc... I'm the same KrrKrj! I always look at floorplans and think "oh my god why didn't I think of that" or "I want that in my house!", I think you just have to tell yourself that someone is probably looking at your plan and thinking the same thing! Have you signed off on your plans yet, because if you haven't, I'm sure you can amend things here and there? Good luck with everything! Re: Our dream home in Bedfordale! Dale Alcock Homes. 28Jun 25, 2013 12:27 am Thanks for the lovely comments. We are booked in for our external colour consult in a couple of weeks. Two nights in Perth and $700 for a return trip just for me! Qantas rip us off cos we're in a mining town, everyone is rich apparently! My husband will be in Perth for work so at least we don't have to pay for flights for him I'm glad we are getting somewhere now. Balilover - no we haven't signed off on any plans as yet. I'm happy with them, and I love the actual layout, I just see little things I like in other floor plans and get jealous. Jemima - not sure how to actually contact you properly or if there is someone else I can ask but I'm interested in all the external colours of the Goulburn and just the render of Willows. We love how the render, roof and roller door all match on the Goulburn. We will go and check them both out in real life when we fly down. So sorry I've been quiet - I was away in the UK for two weeks on annual leave. Otherwise I would have chased up the progress for you with your Sales Consultant. Is everything going OK now? The 'pre-construction' stage can sometimes seem as though it's a little stagnant because of council approvals and plan variations, but once construction is ready to start, it will fly by! With contacting me directly, you can either email me on the below email (within my signature), or you can PM me on here. I generally get updates with threads I'm following and check in every day. So, regarding the colours you require - sure thing - I can get those for you today. It would really help if you could PM or email me your 'real' name and/or job number so I can find your email address and send them all to you. Many thanks! Jemima. Dale Alcock Homes. - Ext. colo 32Jul 17, 2013 10:22 pm So we have returned home from our whirlwind trip to Perth to do our external colour consult. Boy oh Boy its hard! I thought we would have a had a computer generated image of our elevation where we could change the colours to see what suited. We spent a whole day visiting some Dale's displays North and South of the River getting ideas. We then spent a morning in Bedfordale stalking the streets looking at exterior colours (saw your place again Soakedblonde - looking good). We had a short list of colours but we really struggled to imagine what it might look like. Fingers crossed it looks ok in the end.... We also visited the Home Base Expo in Subiaco, there were a few good displays but we didnt really get too much out of it. Met our Pre-start Coordinator who is lovely and she helped us with the colour selection also. She also gave us a Pre-Start file which she said we should have had by now and we had about 45 minutes in the Selection Centre having a really good look around while we waited for our Sales Consultant to get out of a meeting. Glad we waited for him as he hadn't put to the design team any of the changes we had discussed three weeks earlier so we finalised everything and they are currently being drawn up then we can sign off on them... yay!! So.... our final selections; Roof; Windspray Window frames; Silver Lustre Garage door/Gutters/Facia/Front door; Woodland Grey Render; Surfmist Contrasting render; London Fog Ive also been updating blog over the last couple of months; www.buildingmanny.blogspot.com My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63960&p=1000857#p1000857 My BLOG: www.buildingmanny.blogspot.com Re: Dream home in Bedfordale! Dale Alcock Homes. - Ext. colo 33Jul 18, 2013 12:06 am Sounds like a great trip!! Really like your choices. I know how hard it can be to pic colours from a book where the samples don't even look like they do on the house! Driving round the displays is probably the best way to go! I changed my mind on the external colours from our original meeting - twice!! I am still happy with my 3rd and final choice! That sales consult of yours really doesn't sound up to much! Youve had problems from the start! Ours would have changes done for us within a day or 2. Will check out your blog Re: Dream home in Bedfordale! Dale Alcock Homes. - Ext. colo 34Jul 22, 2013 5:42 pm Exterior colours are hard. We spent ages debating our brick choice. It wasn't until after our roof was done when I actually felt more relaxed with our choice. I must admit, I don't know what a lot of those colours look like, but I'm sure anything would look fabulous with your house design! My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Dream home in Bedfordale! Dale Alcock Homes. - Ext. colo 35Jul 22, 2013 5:59 pm Have had a look at your blog and i'm posting to follow We're building with DA in Roleystone and by the sounds are at about the same stage as you, we have pre-start on 9 August. We have full render work and chose a light grey (Shale grey) for the walls too. We've gone with lighter mouldings and a dark roof and gutters. This is the exciting part!! Looking forward to the updates! Re: Our dream home in Bedfordale!! 36Aug 17, 2013 4:11 pm Krrkrj Soooo happy today! Received a preliminary quote for site works from one of the recommended companies and it came in at $55000-$60000. Much less than what we had budgeted. Engineering report is getting done this week. Waiting for working drawings from Gemmill. Still no response from Dale Alcock. I still really want a quote from them though so might have to ring the guy up again. Hi Krrkrj I just wanted to pick your brain if you don't mind We have a block in Bedfordale too and have finally settled on a plan for the house but think that we need to get a contour survey / engineering report before we can approach earthworks companies for a quote I was just wondering if this is correct? We haven't signed up with the Builder yet, they say that they can provide us with the report and a quote for the earthworks, etc once we've signed up but I really wanted to gain quotes from independent earthmoving companies first so I could compare. I know a lot of people who have built in Bedfordale have done their own earthworks. Did you go to Structerre for a report yourself or did you get quotes without the engineering report? Thanks Re: Dream home in Bedfordale! Dale Alcock Homes. - Ext. colo 37Sep 29, 2013 12:31 am [quote="The DA Crew"]Hi again! So here are the details you wanted.
