The only significant thing that has been done is to have the garage floor painted. The main purpose is for ease of cleaning by reducing concrete dust. I really won't my partner to do ours once we get the crap out . Iv never had a door accessing my carport from inside my house . I think it needs to look good . But trying to convince my partner . Do you need to paint it like every couple of years Re: Custom Build in Hills District - Home Theatre Screen up 164Jul 27, 2014 9:57 pm I had it done as part of the build, however builder wasn't able to schedule it before I moved in. They scheduled it with short notice a few months after I moved in. It was done with Berger paving paint. I let it dry for about 3 days before I put the car in. I'm hoping that it will last 5 years before a recoat. They did 2 coats. It was tricky finding pics to suit a narrow / tall space. I also thought it important the pics fit a theme. These are nice colourful gums cropped from a single photo. If planning niches, it is worth thinking carefully what size they will be. Re: Custom Build in Hills District 174Mar 12, 2015 6:43 pm 1st_HomeBuyer Hey Mate The projector you got is throwing image on the wall?? Or is it some kind of board etc?? The screen is from these guys: 100" TCC 16:9 Fixed Frame projector screen The screen is made from an extruded aluminium frame covered with felt. A heavy vinyl sheet is then stretched onto pegs on the frame. I'm very pleased with the quality of construction. Which company did you use for that? I am a freak when it comes to sound... Cheerio OB! Re: Custom Build in Hills District 176Mar 12, 2015 7:10 pm In the Home Theatre my speakers are Q-acoustics in-wall speakers for a 7.2 setup In the Living-room I have Q-acoustics in-ceiling speakers for a 9.2 setup ( 2 of these speakers in the alfresco ) I have Q-acoustics sub-woofers in both areas. The speakers were through Cable connection, although one of the subbies and the 7 in-wall speakers were actually a competition prize Projector is also from Cable Connection. I arranged separately for a contractor to install the speaker wiring before the plaster went in and then fit the speakers in the walls / ceilings once the plaster was painted. I had them leave bare cables pocking out of the walls. Get your builder's electrician to run 50mm PVC pipe in the ceiling and down the front wall of the home theatre to use as conduit for the cabling. Make sure they use a generous turn radius on any corners. The electricians also installed a TV wall mount in the living room and the roof mounting bracket for my projector. I also had them run lots of extra network ports into the Home Theatre and Living Room. Quad ports at each location from memory. ( the electricians stuffed that up and used tight elbow fittings - I had to buy HDMI over CAT 5/6 converters since I could not pull the HDMI cables through the tight turns in the pipe ) I had a home theatre installer wire up and install the wall plates for the speakers.
