no, the guy diagonal that build rawson was pretty happy, but he is absolutly pedantic and checked EVERYTHING so he knew what was missing, the guys complaining are using Masterton and Lilly.

Would've been happy to go with either but just the way it turned out that I went with Rawson. By all means try and get a discount on the cost of raising the ceilings but I think you'll find once you weigh everything up it costs about the same. EG we had 2600 ceilings included in a promotion but paid around $1500 for the 1200mm door, our driveway is included but we had to pay to get 600x600 tiles. Swings and roundabouts. I will try but I think it might be a bit late at this stage Re: Building Washington 29 from Wisdom Home 506May 08, 2014 10:50 am imtellinya wash29 Same here great to see another building W29. now that I found this forum I will definitely spend a lot more time here getting educated Hey wash29, what façade are you going with? Haven't done that appointment yet, waiting for wifey to make that decision really. I've been reading (trying to find more) blogs of people that are building Wash 29s (found a couple from this forum) to get a real life feel and vision of all the things as I am not really good at vision out on drawings. Re: Building Washington 29 from Wisdom Home 507May 08, 2014 1:59 pm wash29 MR2 imtellinya heard that wisdom quality and standard inclusions tends to be better. my neighbours building either side have found all sorts of issues, stuff you'd not believe, excluding communications and time frames being blown out for silly reasons we're happy we went Wisdom Your neighbours are not building with Rawson are they just to make me feel a bit better about Widsom prices , (Or maybe not ... it is my friend who is building with them after all LOL don't want bad things to happen to my friend either) I agree with everyone, the price seems ok. Two of my friends built with Rawson aren't happy with the build quality, specially the internal fittings. I asked them about the ceiling height, they said it was $3200 for 2440mm to 2600mm and 2440mm - 2750mm was additional $3500 in total $6800 for a 26sq single story house. Did ur friend go ahead with 2750? Also how much WH charging your to increase the doors/windows height? The color has been applied and the bricks re-baked. That's good to hear, if it's re-baked it should add more years. I was out looking at Austral's Whitsunday range and I had a chance to talk to customer service rep in regards to surface-coloured bricks. Because the bricks are baked again after the colour is applied, this enables the colour to closely bond to the surface of the brick thus becoming a part of the the structure of the brick. This is why it is resistant to fading. Never in my life did I think I would be concerned with such matters. I think I'm becoming obsessed with bricks. Everywhere I go I'm looking at facades and bricks. My unit balcony has a growing stack of brick samples - I might make a little table or something out of the them! Re: Building Washington 29 from Wisdom Home 509May 12, 2014 5:04 pm Ok we received final payout notice from Wisdom, our PCI is on 21st of May but it may delay by a week due to our tiles saga. First batch of tiles were all scratchy so had to wait for the next batch. SS said it shouldn't delay but i think it will. Outstanding task: Driveway and path, carpet, cladding, shower screens, final painting and clean ups. Hopefully they'll rectify the tiles problem quickly for you. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! I'm currently considering building with either wisdom/Eden brae at jordan springs. We are looking at the providence. We've currently been thrown a curve ball by the bank as the valuation estimate has come back 55k short based on our quote we received from wisdom. We are currently awaiting our tender presentation. Did anyone else here run into any finance dramas like this? If so, how did you get around them? Thanks, Dave. Re: Building Washington 29 from Wisdom Home 514May 14, 2014 11:54 pm Thanks everyone. Driveway is layed today so hopefully carpet soon. @AAAHome it's Espresso from PGH with surfmist moroka. @Extreme not sure why would bank undervalue your construction amount unless you have unrealistic provisions. Try different bank or threat them to walk out at least. I am with St George and my friend with NAB, no issue with construction valuation. Which bank you with? It's frustrating because all 4 properties they used for comparison are all on smaller blocks. One of which is 180m2 smaller and there's only a 15k difference in price. Re: Building Washington 29 from Wisdom Home 516May 15, 2014 6:26 am Sorry to hear of your bank valuation Extreme. I know they need to use comparable sales in the area to justify their valuation but when they are comaparing it to blocks that much smaller it doesn't really make sense to me. How do they consider that to be comparable? I've seen similar issues mentioned in other threads before but have only been able to find the thread listed below that might help somewhat. From memory, others have provided their own list of comparable sales to the bank (to pass onto the valuer) and or just requested another valuation but asked that a different valuer do it. Places like onthehouse.com.au have a sold price listing screen. Alternatively, speak to a mortgage broker (or if you have one that doesn't seem to be doing much, speak with another) even if you still want to use BOQ, the broker might be able to help. They normally have access to RP data and/or will negotiate with the bank to help get it through - they don't get paid otherwise. Hope it all works out for you. viewtopic.php?f=9&t=52777&p=807071&hilit=bank+valuation#p807071 http://camdenbuild.blogspot.com.au/ by invite only please pm me Re: Building Washington 29 from Wisdom Home 517May 15, 2014 9:34 am Great suggestions robbie55!!! Extreme I would do what robbie55 is suggested specially about the mortgage broker. Your lending manager can also fight the valuer decision if he/she is helpful enough. St George undervalued my land but my lending manager fight it and got full valuation. Good Luck and I really feel for you. Please keep us updated.
