Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Sep 29, 2013 2:13 pm I think I like the look of a dark roof with light/white render, possibly with some stackstone tiling or pressed metal to break up the facade. Only thing is it doesn't seem to be very popular! I can't see ANY houses in our current estate with this kind of combination - why!?? Most houses I see here (QLD) seem to either have mid-tone render with light roof, or mid-tones all over. I like a bit more contrast and was wondering if anyone got a dark-ish roof with a light render they can show me a piccie of? This is a mock-up of our facade I did a while ago with the colourbond visualiser. What do you think? The main house render would be the one around the garage (at the moment it's a touch too dark on that left hand side wall). And I think I might make the fascia windspray instead of surfmist but I'm not sure... it's the general idea anyway... Apparently it has more to do with the actual material used than the colour of it. That makes sense to me because even Jasper/Monument colorbond looks shiny and reflective in sunlight. But yes I hear what you're saying about why the dark rooves may be scarce around here. Maybe I need to rely on our Southern brothers for some inspiration!
