But at least we (finally) have keys!! We grabbed a bottle of moscato and toasted the house this afternoon. We'll be back tomorrow for some landscaping work before the paving starts next week (provided there are no other disasters of course). The painting is done and the blinds are all in so I'll take some more photos this weekend. http://i1296.photobucket.com/albums/ag10/pants_de_fancy/moscato_zps8faac26a.jpg We grabbed some wine glasses from home before we visited. His is on the left, mine on the right. I think this sums up my perspective on life at the moment rather well! After having our emails and messages ignored for two days OH went to speak with them at the showroom. He basically put them on the spot and said "What's the plan?". They had no plan because there was no wood. They even admitted to ignoring our emails. Well you can imagine how that went down! OH told them that if they wanted our money they needed to come up with a solution asap. After a bit of scrounging they finally came back to us later that day with some Jarrah that could be delivered in two weeks but it was a different width, depth and quality grade, which is not what I wanted. Then to top it off, because the quality grade was one up from what we ordered it came out to be $800 more so they asked us for more money! At this point I had lost all confidence in the company, couldn't trust that we'd even get the wood they said they'd found, and was plain insulted that after being forced into finding a solution to correct a problem they caused, they wanted even more money from us! I just didn't want anything more to do with them so we asked for our money back and walked away. In their defence, the company transferred our money back in to our account within 24 hours. After it had been sitting in their account earning interest for 9 months. I have no words. So, if anyone has a wood flooring company they can recommend from personal experience can you please post your referral here or PM me? We're right back to square one as far as our beautiful Jarrah floors are concerned and it looks like we'll be painting our floors with Bondcrete just so we can still move in on schedule.
