Well apart from the feature roof across microwave/ oven alcove thingy, that has to be done when they move one wall a tad. And it seems they were a pole short for the patio - or well the pole was a bit short so yeah.
And you guessed it - more photos! By the way Kex I was not going to disagree with your bet, and of course you were right! After all who would argue with a woman that knows her bricks

Lucky guess. I'm not that good on bricks. So have you figured out how you are going to retain your ground around the house yet? We are trying to work it out for our place atm. Re: Pebbles progress ...living and loving 143Dec 23, 2008 2:39 pm Well I think at this stage we will end up planting something on it, like native grasses etc. I haven't thought about it too much yet, and coming into summer I'm not really motivated to plant stuff when it's likely to die on me! The clay just seems to dry out really quickly, and I'm not really for wasting water on plants at the moment even though we have a reasonable amount of it. I'd prefer to give it a go towards autumn or whenever we can expect more regular rain.
I reckon retaining walls (about 3, with large square blocks) would be the best way to go, but we just don't have the money for it. Our colorbond roof has taken them 6 days to do, I think they must only work for an hour a day on our house. There is still a miniscule amount left to do, but no progress today. V frustrating! Bec, I know what you mean, when they were doing the brick work some days I'd wonder why they couldn't do more bricks in a day! I think our supervisor made it sound like the tin would be on pretty quick once it got here so we'll see I guess. Not sure if someone will come tomorrow or if they will hold off until next week now. But since then the electrician and the plumber have been busy and so have the roofing guys. Can't believe you've been waiting 6 days for your roof to be finished that's ridiculous.
I am relay looking forward to seeing Pebbles beautiful verandahs with roofing on. I'm really envious of her verandahs. The house design is a lovely one. Once they're done, then they will do the render on the downstairs. Up until this point, all the tradies had been tracking really well.
We are not expecting much of a lag time at all between roof completed progress payment and lock up progress payment, so big dollars about to be expended. Supervisor said we're looking at about 8 weeks to completion. Roofies should be here on Monday and it will supposedly take a week to get the roof on (I'm thinking because of some little bits and pieces they're yet to finish up). I'm guessing that they don't tend to overestimate on materials due to our rural location - taking extra's away would be expensive.
Anyway they started on Tuesday, there is only the internal features to do and finish off the alfresco. Hopefully since the rest of the house is covered up it won't hold up any progress (plaster etc) however we won't be paying the progress payment until the roof is actually complete. Pictures..... Yes we seem to have "plastic piping" which I'm guessing is standard in rural situations where you're purely on tank water and not high pressure mains. I am pleased that the gas bottles will be on the west wall too, where HWS and filters / pump are as well. I was kind of worried they would want to put them as close to the kitchen as possible. nothing to do with salespeole. you'd do well to read and ccomprehend the post before bashing away at the keys with some negative comment again. 4 2443 8 2280 5 2370 |
