Re: Mt Barker SA build - Metricon Grandview 27 - framing in 185Dec 02, 2013 9:14 pm Progress picture from last week. We went to the block today and it looked like the framing around the windows are done so there isn't much more to go. All is looking good except for one little issue with a door height so we are waiting on a call from the SS to sort out. One more pic from today... Davelle and I are trying to work out if that's a delivery of both roof trusses or one?! I found the framing part just magical. From slab to frames is super quick. You are very close to being able to walk your rooms. We found this a special time to really start to see the house and how it will feel to live in. Take you time when you get to do the frame walk! We ran out of time! Turns out they were Davelle's trusses all along. Ours were delivered on Wednesday. Then this happened yesterday: And these bad boys arrived ready for next week Don't be deceived by the brick colour! So glad to see you started. The frame and bricks look superb. Re: Mt Barker SA build - Metricon Grandview 27 - framing 192Mar 11, 2014 2:58 pm I really let this one go didn't I?! Ok so since my last update Metricon have had completed: - bricks - roof - gyprock - walls and ceiling - stormwater - first fix - insulation - aircon pre-wiring - windows - cornices, architraves and skirting - internal and external doors - our fancy front door was installed and stained over the long weekend. - tiling is pretty much complete - Our pretty cabinetry is in! The Domain Riven finish is incredible! - and now we are coming to the end of painting Now I am sitting quite patiently for my big stone bench top which has had some delays but will be totally worth it! No major issues and any hiccups (including a tiling colour error) have been sorted by our cheeky SS very quickly. When I get some time I will upload photos Build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63784 Re: Mt Barker SA build - Metricon Grandview 27 - painting 193Mar 11, 2014 3:58 pm Alrighty, here we go: windows and doors ready to go Bricks Davelle's house waiting patiently for bricks next door aircon ducting Few shopping pics New floors picked Furniture When photobucket decides to let me keep uploading I'll get some more up. Hiya! SS initials are TT. He is the same for Davelle and, I believe, most of the other Mt Barker builds... We'll have to have you two around when the build is finished so you can check out the quality yvonneh What's the floor you chose? -- it looks lovely (as do your other furniture and colour choices ) Thanks yvonneh! That floor is a vinyl plank. We decided to go for a cheaper floor due to the baby, dogs and 7 year old and for its waterproof qualities. This is called Mid Worn Oak by Karndeen (sold through Carpet Court). We are getting mates rates so its even cheaper than we budgeted for. vladmari It is so lovely to see the progress and how it all comes together like your choices yoda_the_dog Thank you vladmari its been a very long process for us and we are so excited to finally be in our own home.
