Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 26, 2013 7:21 pm Has anyone got any tips on how to stop our lounges skating around on the wooden floors. It's driving us crazy! Our lounges have wooden legs, we are currently using pieces of rubber matting that is used to line drawers etc. these pieces are not working too well, and we have been told by builder not to use the felt pads as they melt the glue under the boards. Thanks in advance. Re: Skating lounges! 2Mar 26, 2013 7:28 pm I presume you have protectors under your lounge to stop it scatching the floor and its is these that are causing the slipping. Why don't you get some non-stick rubber and stick it under the protectors - that way your floor will still be protected but your lounge won't take you for a ride. Glad you identified the issue though as we have wooden floors throughout in our new house too and in the loungeroom the seating will be in the middle of the room not against a wall so this will be an issue for us too. Re: Skating lounges! 4Mar 26, 2013 8:29 pm You could buy those grippy mats that are used to keep rugs from sliding around. Just cut it into the sizes you need and glue to the bottom of the furniture. I forgot what they are called but you could buy them at almost any rug store. Custom downslope build Build thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=61873 Blog http://www.buildingroyalmanor.blogspot.com.au |
