Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 25, 2013 11:43 pm Hi all We recently purchased a block of land in North Brisbane in a new estate and are now in the search for our new home, yay! . After reading all the horror stories here of being charged huge amounts for footings ($20-30k is not a trivial amount for us) I am a bit worried and have decided to organise an independent soil test outside of the build process so that I have peace of mind when it comes to knowing what costs I'm in for. At least if it comes back a 'P' or 'H' we can specifically ask the builder how much they charge for that type of slab and compare apples with apples. Completely understand that most project builders want the soil testing performed by their own company, but at least we can have peace of mine and question and major variations. Does anyone have any recommendation of a reliable & trustworthy soil testing company in Brisbane?
