Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 21, 2008 3:17 pm Anyone know anything about bib taps on water tanks?? Ours is not on the tank as I was expecting, but instead on the back of the house - so now we have two taps on the back of the house - the usual rear tap you get plus the bib tap! Is this normal?? Our neighbours say you should hear the water tank pump kick in when you turn the bib tap on but we hear nothing and yet the water flows freely. Have I just received TWO taps hooked up to mains?? Re: Bib Tap 2Apr 22, 2008 1:36 pm Hi Jac08
We have 2 taps side by side one marked as the rain water. There is one set on the rear left of the house and one set on the front right. The easiest way to tell if you have mains or not is turn the rain water tap on and see if your meter is running. The only exception to this is if you have a mains cutover switch which means if the tank is empoy it will automatically use mains water. This is now compulsory in SEQLD as our toilets and washing machine use tank water first if it is available. The only other thing to check is that the pump is plugged in & turned on, otherwise it will cut over to mains if you have cut over switch Hope this helps Anne Grandview 36 on Beautiful Bribie Site Start Dec 5th 2007 Projected completion May 12th 2008 NOPE Handover 24th June 2008 Moved in 11th July 2008 Wating on one final thing - Still - Oct 2009 Re: Bib Tap 4Apr 22, 2008 10:05 pm Memphis very possible, but without a pretty sizeable head - ie heigth above the tank - there will not be much pressure.
There are some VERY silet pumps around now too. - Depends on how they have hooked it all up. Steve that will depend on the kitchen bench depth. you'll have to specify it so it allows for both the tap and the sink 1 4390 7 3717 Brass or 2) Stainless steel made - which Kitchen tap is good for drinking.Brass kitchen taps in Australia contain lead… 0 4652 |
