Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Redink SOR custom build - prestart 61May 14, 2013 11:35 pm if you can post a pic of your kitchen plans it might help but Im assuming the square bulkhead is where the kitchen is under the eaves on the side of the house and the dropped bit over the island? they should look the same but if you don't have overhead cupboards where the eaves are make sure the bottom of each bulkhead is at the same level. let us know where each bit is to put a picture in our heads our fridge plumbing and powerpoint is at 2000 high so it is behind the overhead cupboards and above the fridge. Off on a holiday for a couple of weeks (seemed like a great idea six months ago) so hopefully nothing major goes wrong! Having a few issues with our garage though which seems to have been mysteriously shrunk somewhere in the process. Not ideal but think it is partly our problem for not picking it up and pursuing earlier. Can't fault communication or service from builder at this stage. Re: Redink SOR custom build - prestart 65Jun 08, 2013 4:08 pm i know how you feel...Munchy had their prestart after us but they have a roof and our brickwork has just started.... but everyone's situation is different and I can see how the issues we have had have held up our build. Just gotta stay positive and hope like hell that the rain in the next few months doesn't hold everyone up even more!! do you have a start date so you have something to keep you occupied? Re: Redink SOR custom build - prestart 66Jun 08, 2013 4:50 pm Yeh - I am pretty sure that there were a few miscommunications that may have held things up. No date - no idea what they are doing now cuz I know the have the building permit etc. have sent an email so hopefully get some idea soon Re: Redink SOR custom build - earthworks 69Jun 25, 2013 8:13 pm Earthworks started today! Has a fair bit of rubbish on it as has been a vacant block in a long established suburb. Retaining walls will be done Monday next week. Have been told slab by mid-July Re: Redink SOR custom build - earthworks 70Jun 25, 2013 8:18 pm Ours was done today too! Will do the first inspection once roof cover is finished and then another one at the end..PCI or handover? should really pick an inspector asap as the roof is going up!! Re: Redink SOR custom build - earthworks 75Jun 26, 2013 4:48 pm I'm no Redinker but I reckon I will as well, considering how much we are spending on the build, a few hundred dollars doesn't seem unreasonable for peace of mind. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: Redink SOR custom build - earthworks 76Jun 26, 2013 5:00 pm Haha sorry navs - didn't mean to make it exclusive! I think perhaps 2k is too much (for 4 inspections) but I wonder if could do what kat has done and just do 2 inspections? Who are you using kat? Re: Redink SOR custom build - earthworks 77Jun 26, 2013 5:04 pm Haha that's okay cos we're in the battle axe club Yeah $2k is a bit much, I'm happy to spend up to about $1k and maybe just do 2 inspections instead of 4. My partner thinks I should stop fussing and not worry about it but having read this forum for some time and seen what can and does go wrong I think I have to do at least one at the lockup stage but probably another one at roof high makes sense as well. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: Redink SOR custom build - earthworks 78Jun 26, 2013 5:37 pm Your block may be messy, but look at that SOIL! I (will) have sand. Give me soil anyday. ______________________________________________________________________ Signed up Jan 2013........Almost done! My thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=65763 Re: Redink SOR custom build - earthworks 80Jun 26, 2013 6:22 pm I contacted someone about inspections and he only recommended 3 inspections and I think it was under $1000 in total, I'll have to dig out the email. I got the website from a recommendation here. We're planning on just doing the one at PCI which was just under $400 as our house is only little so not that much they could really mess up, well that was my thought anyway But we want the help and support to pick up things the builder should be responsible to fix!
