It looks like they spray painted your doors? I always thought the doors would come already painted, would seem like the easier option to me. https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 522Jan 08, 2014 12:06 pm Yep they sprayed the doors. I'm sure it will get covered up. But there are a lot of these. They decided to use our master bedroom to spray a bunch of them / so I have 3-4 big paint marks like this on the wall in the master. As I said - I just don't know how we will go sealing the walls with so much paint on them. I am only concerned as I am the sucker who will be doing the painting. Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 523Jan 08, 2014 12:19 pm Haha yeah that sucks about doing the painting, hope it comes out easy and painting is a breeze for you - have you managed to recruit some unsuspecting family members to help out? https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 525Jan 08, 2014 4:17 pm Ahh yes that is exactly what you need, feed them well and then water them well and you can sit back and no one will even notice Are you doing a homebrew because I can recommend u-brew-it if you are seriously doing a keg https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 527Jan 08, 2014 4:37 pm Oo i'm jealous, might have to talk the other half into one for the new house https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 529Jan 08, 2014 4:56 pm That would be cool, not that we can fit too many people in the new house though but it just means more beer for me and that ain't bad https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64434 Building our own custom design based on the Elwood by Dale Alcock Land settled - November Plans submitted to council - January Prestart - March Slab - 18 September Brickies - 23 October Re: Redink SOR custom build - prestart 530Jan 09, 2014 12:22 am [quote="asj25"]So have sent off costings after prestart - took us ages to get everything confirmed. As we are doing our own tiling had to get a few things confirmed with the tiler... anyway done now! So the main things we upgraded were; - Added pot draws to kitchen - Extended island bench - Added microwave recess (cost for this was ridiculous considering its a hole!) - Added some doors (some we will provide ourselves as really couldnt understand the cost of a door i.e. But the cost to add a doorframe was reasonable) - Added lots of powerpoints and some data points - Added provisions for grey water collection - Had to change some windows to awning to meet requirements - Tried to downgrade fancy wide front door - turned out to be too difficult so will leave as is. Will be jarrah stained - Double shower in ensuite - Solid doors to linen cupboard (as it is right in enterance and should hopefully look better) - Double doors to theatre - Having LEDs to living areas - wanted to add to Master b'room but wasnt allowed - Added bookcase to end of island bench in kitchen - Upgraded sink - monaco clarke 1.5 Glad the end is sort of in sight:) Wondered how much the built in bookcase is costing through RI? Do you have a picture of it? I love the idea of this, but wondered what you ended up going with. Thanks. Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 531Jan 09, 2014 8:46 am Hey / it ended up being too much money and it wasn't what we were after. Bookcase the width of the island bench was around $800-900. I just thought that there were a lot of things I could do with that money. This is what I wanted it to look like and I just didn't think a laminate bookcase would give this effect Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ But at the end of the day it is still cheaper than a waterfall edge! Have you seen the benches with wine fridges in. The end of them? They look cool! Hmm, books or wine? I think I'll investigate the wine fridge idea. Maybe in the pantry. Thanks Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 535Jan 09, 2014 11:35 pm Oh, i love that bookshelf! We had one added to the end of our bench. It was supposed to look more like yours but I wasnt clever enough to give them a picture. So it didnt exactly turn out like that. Im hoping i can get it fixed up fairly easily one of these days. That spraypaint on the walls is pretty bad. How lazy, they should have taken them outside. I would be p!ssed too. Our doors were painted with a brush. Can they sand them down or something? My build thread: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64437 Re: Redink SOR rear build - PCI in sight...sort of? 536Jan 09, 2014 11:54 pm Tracy - I showed them the pic a million times and they just didn't understand what I wanted. As I said, I chickened out cuz I didn't think it would end up looking anything like I wanted it and I just would have cried haha! If I had lots of money / this wasn't my first house I would consider doing the island bench after handover so you could really put what you wanted there. Yes how lazy. I mean all they have to do is spray them now. Just sticky tape up a drop sheet. That's what they did in other places in the house. Haven't found out if this can be rectified at all yet...
