Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 21, 2013 4:56 pm Hi Everyone I have been browsing this forum for awhile but haven't really posted much up until now. My partner and I are in the process of trying to choose a builder so we can build on a block of land we have in Busselton, WA. It has been a pretty exciting, but difficult process and is a much harder decision than I first thought. We have one builder who is at the top of our list, and have found a floorplan that we love - but... I don't love the elevation. We have a meeting with the sales consultant this weekend so I am planning on asking him for advice on what we can do to give the home a bit more street appeal. But I thought I would ask here as well, as there seems to be so many great ideas on this forum. This is a sketch of the elevation. (First time posting a photo so I hope it works!) Sorry about the photo quality, it is all we have at the moment. http://img14.imageshack.us/img14/850/photoadj.jpg We aren't sure whether to go with render or brick, and also stuck on colours. I have looked at a lot of display homes and found things that I really like, but I'm having a bit of trouble visualising it on this elevation. If anyone has any suggestions of how the elevation could be improved without spending heaps of money that would be great (first home = small-ish budget ). It just looks quite plain and boring at the moment... thanks! Re: First time home builder - elevation question 4Mar 22, 2013 11:09 am also with bashworth on the two windows and possible go with a feature like stone on your portico post. change the garage to either a slimline or ranch style. then there is your door you will be able to choose different style as well. or extend the roof line and have a long porch. Re: First time home builder - elevation question 5Mar 22, 2013 12:57 pm Thanks everyone hachy Do you not have a choice of elevations to choose from? We got to choose ours. Hachy I'm not sure yet, the plan is a new one the builder has only just brought out. We are meeting him tomorrow so I will find out. Re: First time home builder - elevation question 6Mar 25, 2013 3:45 pm Half or third render, rest brick or other way around, might look nice, depending on your brick choice. So it looks like we finally have some movement on site! Definitely later than expected, but I'll take any progress at this point. I'll drop by over the weekend to get… 5 27716 Can anyone give me any onfo on New Homes WA? Good or bad, hopefully good just need to know if my choice was good or not? Thanks ❤️ 0 8939 |
