I wouldn't worry at all':-) My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 183Jul 18, 2013 8:25 am I think you will learn to love your quirky window. And just think of all that lovely light you've got coming in. Draftie must have been a bit daftie and most likely male (I apologise in advance if I'm hurting anyone's feelings ) Momomo, 2nd day after handover I washed some placemats in the sink and because I had no room and no dry tea towel left I just put them on the bench. 20 minutes later I used a normal towel to dry them off and realized I had 4 x 30cm by 20cm perfect black/grey squares that had transferred on to the white. I screamed and hubby came running. I was hysterical as it just wouldn't budge. Made him run next door to ask for gumption, Jif, anything!!!!!! After a good 20 minutes it was gone. Not sure how it would have looked if left overnight?. No one tells you of these things but I have learned the hard way. ATM the bench is full of tradies tools and all I can think of is what is lurking underneath when they re finished and I get to see my bench again. Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 184Jul 18, 2013 12:36 pm Oh really water stains it? That's crazy! Lol !! My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 185Jul 18, 2013 9:55 pm No not water. The plastic colouring or whatever the coating on those mats were ran away and wanted to live on the bench!!! Haha Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 186Jul 18, 2013 10:11 pm I'll have to remember that SB don't want to stain my beautiful white bench top!! May have o have some vinegar and bicarb on hand Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 187Jul 18, 2013 11:07 pm Oh sb that sounds a bit better - I was thinking if plain water was staining it then we all had no hope haha My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 188Jul 31, 2013 10:37 am Tiling Ensuite Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Main bathroom Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Laundry splashback Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Main bath vanity Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Ensuite vanity Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Tiling is done we will be getting more tiling done after handover to make the bathrooms look more finished! Still not convinced on the cupboard colour with the floor tile but we will have to live with it lol! Kitchen benchtop is the right colour, even though it is totally different to the sample colours we have seen, still nice but not what I had envisioned! Bifold window is installed so will take a pic of it next time I go Handover should be early September My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 189Jul 31, 2013 11:10 am Looking really, really good newby I think, from the pics, that the cupboard colour matches. At least it was the correct kitchen bench colour in the end...that would have been a pretty big oversight if it had have been the wrong colour! Early September? Yeeeeeek, how exciting! Do you have a house to sell? Lol just hoping it sells quickly when we get it for sale! My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 191Jul 31, 2013 11:22 am I'm sure it will, Newby. There's such a lack of houses in Perth at the mo, so the chances of selling quickly and for a good price are really good. At least, I hope so as we have to sell too! Sounds like a plan! We are just starting to work on plans with Aveling so I will be following your build with great interest. I'm a little nervous about white bench tops after reading this though haha Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 197Aug 10, 2013 7:04 pm Hey lillytheo, I wouldn't worry I know heaps of ppl with white tops and no hassles at all! Black ones apparently are harder to keep clean with finger marks Etc so there is always something! My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 198Aug 10, 2013 9:17 pm Welcome lillytheo to the many Aveling threads. I panicked about the white Essastone at first but keeping all fingers and toes crossed, its now 2 weeks post move and it's still nice and white.
