Love the Avignon Walnut Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 162Jul 17, 2013 7:53 pm Looks like they have installed the wrong colour essa stone. Have ordered samples of the one they have installed and the one I asked for from the essa stone website to double check but I looked at the kitchen today and def isn't right aghhh My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 164Jul 17, 2013 8:12 pm Nope lol My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 166Jul 17, 2013 10:16 pm Both black but still different ... Gallileo and midnight rendezvous essa stone. My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 167Jul 17, 2013 10:20 pm Looking at the website they are different.... One looks black the other dark grey... Hope you get it sorted!! Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 168Jul 17, 2013 10:22 pm Yes they are quite different. Which one did you order? I think they are both nice, personal preference is the more grey one. If they sent you that one tell them they can reuse it at my place hehe Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 169Jul 17, 2013 10:53 pm Lol yeah we wanted the greyish black one but looks like they've installed the blackest one. We had dramas with them not having the colour and waiting now they've installed the wrong one.. Possibly hoping we don't notice.... Lol maybe My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 170Jul 17, 2013 11:00 pm I went totally ultra white (and have suffered a couple of heart attacks already with staining) but that one could have swayed me, it's lovely. Stick to your guns newby
Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 171Jul 17, 2013 11:01 pm I wanted the grey but the other half wanted white so it was one of things I gave him also not sure the grey would have worked in our bathroom.... Next time Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 172Jul 17, 2013 11:50 pm Yep staining was the main reason for the dark colour! way too scared someone will leave something on the kitchen bench lol My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 173Jul 18, 2013 12:13 am Linen cupboard Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Kitchen Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Scullery Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 174Jul 18, 2013 12:16 am Oh and the window in the scullery was a shocking overlook, draughtsman drew the windows in and I didn't think to check the position of it, totally off centre and not the right height so disappointed about it but u live and learn !! My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 175Jul 18, 2013 12:39 am do you remember what the benchtop edge profile was called that you chose for the bathrooms? or the size of the radius of the curve? your house is looking lovely, bummer about the window It will all tie in nicely once its finished and you won't even notice I should really take my own advice... Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 176Jul 18, 2013 12:41 am Kitchen is looking huge! I have a window like that in our build, our ensuite window is smack in the middle of the shower instead of being at one end!! Didn't see that move and once I did it was too late! Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 177Jul 18, 2013 12:57 am Kat - I'm not sure - pencil edge maybe? Lol Thanks I think it's hard looking at it when it's not finished Fmac - it's frustrating hey! I have to let it go but I'm sure it's going to drive me insane pretty much forever My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 178Jul 18, 2013 1:31 am I'm sure they'll have to fix your benchtops for you, newby, it's in the contract after all. Why don't you see if they'll let you keep the benchtops and credit you back the amount - could be a lucrative alternative (unless you can't live with the black benchtops of course)? I agree with xxkatxx, you won't notice the servery window when all is said and done - I know it's not ideal but it will no doubt become a feature quirk that you and visiting friends will chuckle about later down the track when the whole house is finished and looking gorgeous The linen doors are a lovely colour! It may just look alot darker than I remember but I'm pretty sure it's gallielo. Just gonna play it by ear, learning now to just ride the peaks and troughs of building not worth being stressed hey! My build viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63673 Re: Aveling homes - first time build baldivis 180Jul 18, 2013 1:37 am PS - I have bone white essastone benchtops coming, and I didn't even consider staining....bloody hell, what have I done??!! Nah, she'll be right. I'll just become the mein fuhrer of the kitchen...'DON'T you put THAT DOWN THERE!!'.....'WHO left this red CORDIAL CUP RING??!!'....lolz Just kidding - there's nothing a little baking soda cannot fix, trust me. Ya just gotta know your Martha Stewart remedies. First world problems, right guys?
