Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Prestart Thursday!! 21Mar 27, 2013 11:51 am Another Prestart question, any redinkers know how much it costs to have installed light fixtures that are supplied by us, rather than just the standard? Re: Prestart Thursday!! 23Mar 27, 2013 2:30 pm Thanks Kat, I have seen on other people's pics that they have fancy entrance lights and lights on their garage and portico during the build pics so I was wondering how we go about it Suppose we can ask at Prestart soon enough Re: Prestart Thursday!! 24Mar 27, 2013 4:17 pm Hey guys, Im building with 101 which is big brother to Red Ink I believe. Im quite keen to see all the charges you have here. My pre-start is a while away. Im building a 2 storey 4 bedroom home. We have a 14kW Daiken which Im told is more than big enough to service our whole house. Will be interesting to see if it isnt after all. Ive been quoted about $6500 to prep/paint all my walls (2nd level painting included already). Im still in two minds about doing this - Ive just found a Paintzoom on BigW website which looks like it would make painting jobs pretty easy - so we might just tackle that ourselves when we get in & knock one room off at a time. Its a drag but Im pretty sure it wouldnt be as expensive. Id love to know about extra tiling costs - the tiles themselves arent that expensive - I think its all the labour etc required.... Re: Prestart Thursday!! 25Mar 27, 2013 4:52 pm Painting should be cheaper by organising yourself and you may be limited to one colour for the whole house through the builder? What is your total internal square metres? Pretty sure our aircon is a 14kw daikin through redink Re: Prestart Thursday!! 26Mar 27, 2013 5:24 pm According to my plans the whole house is 302.528m2.... Being limited to one colour would suck! Esp since we'd be paying a mark up too - you'd think we'd have some say. Im thinking we might sort it out ourselves now for sure. Re: Prestart Thursday!! 27Mar 27, 2013 8:35 pm Hey guys, I asked about having our light fittings installed, for an outside light it's $55 extra on top of the light point which is $80. If you only want them to do a few it's probably worth getting Redink to do it but if you have internal and external light fitting to go in it's cheaper to get an electrician after handover and have it all done in one lot. I also got the costings back for up grading the air con, sweet jesus, it's $4800!!! needless to say we won't be having that done. The good news is though that all the air conditioners are now inverter systems!! Another recent upgrade to their standard inclusions. The extra tiling wasn't too bad, it cost us $300 for extra mosaic tiles in the bathroom and ensuite and just over $500 to have rectified tiles up to the cupboard height in the kitchen, that was roughly 3 meters long and 0.7m height. Thought that wasn't too bad, was expecting a lot more to be honest! We had a note made in our variations that we wanted to discuss placement of outlets and zoning on site. Might have to ask our prestart lady about the aircon...pretty sure they will be just as happy as us to have a slab and move on Hahaha Re: Prestart Thursday!! 33Mar 27, 2013 11:42 pm [quote="xxkatxx"]When did the inverter thing come in as standard? Our addenda says fixed really not happy with it /quote] Ours does not even say what the aircon is. Need to do something about that. Unfortunately our Prestart consultants were provided with some slightly inaccurate information, and the inverter models are not our standard. Fixed units are still the standard, but we've been fortunate that our supplier has been supplying inverters at the same price. There's no guarantee this will continue, but it's a great bonus for our clients while it does. If you have any queries regarding this please feel free to contact your Prestart consultant. Regards, Ryan Hewitt Hi Everyone, wondering if anyone has done a prestart lately with summit homes in WA and what kind of costs were associated with adding gpo's and downlights? we are also… 0 3844 |
