Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 41Mar 28, 2013 12:02 am No worries. When is our pre-start? Have you Already got an idea of what you want to upgrade and what tiles etc you want? I did put a list of upgraded prices on this forum somewhere, I can't remember whose thread it was now... Have you seen it? It might help you make some decisions prior to pre-start... Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 42Mar 28, 2013 12:15 am Prestart is 15th April but we have the interior design consultation on the 8th April. We know what looks we like but haven't picked tiles. We're going to head out to Imported Ceramics on Saturday to have a look. And yes I did see your list, it was very useful!!! Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 45Mar 28, 2013 9:11 am Hahaha sounds like us!!!! Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 46Apr 09, 2013 5:39 pm We heard from the developer yesterday that the builders should be allowed on site to do their thang next week, and he's expecting titles mid-May. Feels like we're getting close now. Also we are sure we won't be in by Christmas now, which is a bummer, but I'm trying to look on the positive side - if we were it would only be just before Christmas, whereas if we aren't in until early next year we'll be well settled by Christmas next year and can really enjoy it and have people round for a really good christmas! Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 47Apr 09, 2013 6:36 pm Fantastic news Mandy67!! We just had our interior design consult yesterday and it went really well!! Basically all our selections have been made!! Now to find out next Monday at Prestart whether we can afford them all!! Haha I'm trying to not look over the selections of colours and tiles too much otherwise I know me and I will start questioning all our decisions! Haha I'll try post some pics of what we have went for soon Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 49Apr 09, 2013 7:22 pm Yeah, it's finally seeming real! That's good wildwood. Must be hell waiting for pre-start - because of personal commitments we had our's the day after the interior design consult! I thought it would mean less time to rethink, but of course you can still change your mind after pre-start so I've done plenty of worrying and changing! look forward to seeing your choices. Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 50Apr 12, 2013 1:55 pm The developer sent my husband a text today with the number of the site manager to pass on to Redink so they can get on site from 22 April. I'm pretty peeved, as just a few days ago be said they would be able to get on next week and 22nd is not next week! And because he just sent a text and didn't explain whether that delay means another delay for titles. These people shouldn't take it for granted that the customer, the one who's going to give them hundreds of thousands of dollars, knows the implications of things that happen or don't happen. My husband had to call him - he told him the delay is because the road-layers wanted the road to settle before they put kerbs in - obviously someone woke up one morning this week and decided to lay roads, as they've obviously never done it before! And why put kerbs in anyway? They will no doubt get damaged while houses are being built! Grr! The End! Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 51Apr 25, 2013 4:24 pm Well we have some progress this week, albeit small! We received our plans that were amended after pre-start, and our revised paperwork - the stuff that details all colour choices, site work details etc etc etc. they were due to be sent out last Friday but I hadn't received them by yesterday, so I chased it up and Helen at Redink immediately emailed it all to me and put another copy in express mail, so I was very happy with the service there. Also, last week I told Redink structerre could get on site from 22 April and gave them the phone number to call to arrange. yesterday I asked Redink if they had booked to go out yet, and again kellie got back to me straight away and said structerrehave already been out and our report was currently being typed up! So, another thumbs up for Redink, and me a happy bunny! I will upload the new plans once I remember how to get in to photobucket! I did go out to the site last weekend and took a couple of photos, but I won't bother with them as there's not really anything to see - just a stick with our plot number on it and that of the next door plot! I assume that was our boundary. There wasn't one the other side, which was a bit annoying, as I couldn't properly identify our complete plot. But for us, having waited since feb 2011, every little change is something! Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 54Apr 25, 2013 5:00 pm YAY!! So glad to hear there has been some movement forward! Here (hopefully!) are our final plans. We will make a couple of changes, but this is more or less it. We have one more free variation, so speak now people, or forever hold your peace! I'm thinking about changing the windows in the back bedroom. We wanted to make it a bit different and special, as it will be the guest room, but I'm not convinced that the windows we have chosen will look good. It is only 3x4 metres and I'm wondering if we've gone a bit ott for the size of the room. We're going to some displays tomorrow, and I'll have a look at some different options then. We also can't quite decide what to do with the en suite shower screen/ glass. We have gone for just a glass panel, and the shower is hobless, as we love that look in hotels. However, when we saw the width of the glass we weren't sure if it was going to give us the speccy look that we want - at the end of the day it is just a standard bathroom. We can make the glass a bit longer i guess, but have to bear in mind that the double towel rail will be in the shower, as there's nowhere else for it! My husband likes nib walls, I don't, but I don't like the dust-catching little spaces the designers leave you with either, so I was happy to agree to the nibs. But now we're wondering whether we should do away with the nib if we keep the glass panel. Another reason to go display home visiting tomorrow! Ok, fingers crossed the plans are attached - pressing 'submit' now! Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 57Apr 26, 2013 9:17 pm Hmm, I did turn them round, but that obviously doesn't save! How many of you are now turning your iPad round like I do, thinking the photo will be the right way up?! Doh! Re: Our Journey With Taylor's Estate,Caversham and Redink - 60Apr 26, 2013 9:44 pm How big is your shower Mandy? We are having a nib wall with a fixed glass panel, kind of like this Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Our shower is 2m long and the glass panel will be 1.2m (600mm of which will be above the nib wall). There is a new display home in Baldivis with a pretty much the same layout as the above picture except the glass panel looks a little shorter Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I think it still looks great even though its shorter Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Any advice on how to ensure the kit home granny flat that im thinking of buying will get council approval.
