Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 182Oct 15, 2013 6:24 pm I actually just contacted the watercorp to find our exactly what is in the water - Fluoride and Chlorine. He said the levels vary very little between suburbs - then said a bunch of other stuff about PH levels that I didn't understand... he's going to email me a fact sheet, but said the levels are well below the maximum acceptable level and that you can get different types on sacrificial anode's - so maybe I should be getting a different anode installed?? I guess if Chromogen have to keep repl;acing them they would try a different type. might ask our neighours My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63545 Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 183Oct 15, 2013 6:30 pm Yeah I'm thinking it could be a brand specific issue...Surely they would only keep replacing it under warranty for a limited time? Especially the Labour portion of the cost? Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 184Oct 15, 2013 6:54 pm I'm pretty sure the sacrificial anodes are meant to last years not months! Sounds like something not quite right! And I'd be thinking its the hot water system not the water coming through or everyone around you would be having the same problem! Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 185Oct 15, 2013 7:47 pm That's what I think Fmac...would interested to find out if anyone else has had the same issue. My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63545 Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 188Oct 15, 2013 11:07 pm Your sacrificial anode should last years. If it's gone in weeks, ( and I wouldn't automatically believe any tradie who told me that) then there's a problem with your system - (stray currents/incorrect installation) Won't be the water as your water is the same as everyone elses. Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 189Oct 16, 2013 10:45 am Thanks everyone - I think I might ask chromogen about to explore further - I don't want it to suddenly pack up once the warranty ends. The plumber couldn't explain why it suddenly started working. The pressure now is really good, we just realised that actually we've had really low water pressure for months. My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63545 Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 190Oct 26, 2013 8:41 pm Just love ur home the colours for the front elevation are fabulous. Awesome kitchen and the red stools look great against the stark white. Love your shutters and the colour scheme. Got good taste. Horrible to hear ur problems towards the end and the slow response - very poor. One has to wonder why u keep reading of CLO & SS leaving and some tradespeople doing a poor job. Do they overload them with work or pay them so poorly, that they don't give a damn (had another descriptive word here but unable to submit). The HWS problem is a pain. I too am worrying about how the system will fare and I am only up to brickwork stage. I read on a few websites that people were having trouble with them. A year seems such a short time for a warranty too. Hope all works out well and you get everything sorted . After all is that not what you paid for. Glass splashback for the kitchen is finally going in next week, then we've only got lights and back landscaping to go...keen to get the lawn in before the heat of summer. Chromogen actually got back to me and said they had a faulty batch of anodes a while a go, so that was probably the issue, I hope it's finally sorted and they weren't just trying to fob me off! It's been running perfectly now. My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63545 Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 192Oct 27, 2013 6:32 pm Just wondering if anyone that built with Red ink got a quote to get a different branded HWS and what sort of price they came back with? Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...No Hot Water - again! 193Nov 04, 2013 2:21 pm We had our six month maintenance inspection last week. Apart from the HWS, there weren't really any maintenance things (we don't have any ceiling cracks!) but there was heaps of paint that wasn't ever cleaned off the top of our range hood and the glass in the front door so they are going to clean that up and fix up the messy brick paving at the front. Also I have been meaning to add a few pics of our splash back which we finally got installed (after changing my mind from Red, to Silver, to White, i settled on white with the greenish tinge)...And after 14 long weeks our couch finally arrived too. My Thread viewtopic.php?f=31&t=63545 Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...maintenance + splash bac 196Nov 04, 2013 5:53 pm Lovely!!! We have the similar couch but the terminal end rather then full 2 seat couch. Looks lovely! We're still waiting in ours to arrive. I love the splash back, one day ill replace ours with something similar Re: Our Redink Build at Honeywood...maintenance + splash bac 197Nov 04, 2013 6:15 pm I hate waiting on furniture to arrive. We actually got that couch for our theatre room, but decided to leave it in the family room since we are not actually using the theater room - but eventually we will need to furnish that. We're not really into home theatre, so trying to think of another use for that room. what's wrong with your splashback? i love the all white look. would have got that for ours but hubby wanted some sort of colour.
