Who would have thought that after trevors carpets left me high and dry on Wednesday that I would get carpet and have it installed 4 days later. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y521/rex7777777/20131216_044655_zps3b270076.jpg http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y521/rex7777777/20131216_044532_zps7727b4fd.jpg Also the tilers were finished in only 3 days. Amazing effort and a great job. To do 100m2 of 60x60 porcelains in that time brilliant. And such a good price too. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y521/rex7777777/20131216_044448_zps1bc36ce5.jpg And with some help from two others my dad and I poured footings for the front brick wall. A hard job going flat out for two days in 40 degrees but we managed it. http://i1279.photobucket.com/albums/y521/rex7777777/20131216_045059_zpsd2a3cd75.jpg A word of caution for anyone installing a ducted reverse cycle system. The return vent location needs to be thought out carefully. All the air that blows out the vents has to return to the return grille. If you like us have a door that shuts off a section where the vent has been placed then air from the other half of the house struggles to reach the return and you hear a loud whistling sounds under the door so you have to leave it open which defeats the purpose of the door. I wish I had known about this issue before. So this week brickie starts on front wall today. Tuesday alarm goes in. Wednesday electrician comes to install fans downlights and special lights. Thursday window treatments. Friday moving in. Re: Rex's Redink build - CARPETS DONE 624Dec 16, 2013 9:28 am Hey Rex Sorry to hear about your carpet issues Your tiles & carpet look excellent though! Looks like we will be moving in the same days Don't get me started about pci rectifications....:S Our RedInk Build Thread - viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64118&p=1004131#p1004131 ** Timeline Page 1 Moved In - 19.12.13 Re: Rex's Redink build - CARPETS DONE 625Dec 16, 2013 9:55 am Some things are meant to happen--you'll be much happier with this carpet. Everything looks fabulous, although working in 40C must not have been fun--I'm sure it will be worth it though. Re: Rex's Redink build - CARPETS DONE 626Dec 17, 2013 7:14 am All looking good. I really love your tiles. I am looking into something similar or bamboo flooring. Thanks for info re ducted aircon I think I understand what it means . The hospital house we rent here in Exmouth has a internal door (near the return grille) that at the bottom section has fixed louvres/slats to help with airflow. Probably for that very reason you mentioned. Not suitable for us though as our doors that would separate the sections are double french doors with glass. All the big stuff has been moved but there is still heaps of little stuff. Stuff stuff stuff ahhhhhh! I'll look forward to sleeping at the house tonight in a bed rather than an air mattress but I feel kind of sad for our sold house as we built that and lived there for 9.5 years with plenty of memories. Oh well I'll forget it quickly enough hehe. Re: Rex's Redink build - LIGHTS AND FANS 637Feb 25, 2014 6:34 pm How's everything been going? Any updates? Re: Rex's Redink build - LIGHTS AND FANS 638Feb 25, 2014 9:58 pm Rex has plenty of updates! All the landscaping is more or less finished now, so badger him for photos. Don't mind me, just fulfilling my sibling duty of being annoying Re: Rex's Redink build - LIGHTS AND FANS 639Feb 25, 2014 11:36 pm Then we want photos!! Pretty please!! What are siblings for if not to be completely obnoxious (and force their siblings to post pics on F1)? Re: Rex's Redink build - LIGHTS AND FANS 640Feb 27, 2014 10:38 pm Hi all it's been a while but I'm back. We've been living here for just over 2 months now and we've loved every minute of it. Apart from the verge and some plants, the house is finished inside and out. The list of jobs seemed endless. 46m of retaining walls, 180m2 of extra paving, road kerbing, extra fencing, gates, 120m2 of sir walter grass, pavers and stone out the back and the chicken pen. Plenty of $$$.
Here are some pics. Still needs a little cleaning and organising.
