Check out the photos on the bog! How did you know where I do my web browsing?! Best forum post ever!!!! LOL! I guess I should have proof read...... Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PHOTOS - 6th July 201 203Jul 07, 2014 8:29 pm Mrs Brown Bear SheridanBenjamin - just a quick question. I've noticed your blog post with the picture of a cupboard. Is that the laundry one? Because the display home in Gledswood Hills has shelves all the way across and that wasn't listed on the upgrades list. I've already got a broom cupboard as part of the birthday bonus and I'd be rather unhappy with a half broom half shelved linen press. Yes, it is the laundry cupboard. It's just the way it is, we didn't chose it. We are happy with it. Actually we are happy with anything / everything new as it's all so much better than anything we've had before..... Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PHOTOS - 6th July 201 204Jul 07, 2014 9:36 pm Thanks for the quick reply. I'll ask the site superviser about it. I don't really have enough mops for two broom cupboards and was going to use it for storage. I have just rechecked my plans and it definitely just says "linen" and there's an arrow pointing to it saying 4 x shelves. We'll work it out. Thanks for the heads up. I'm on email notification for your blog and really enjoy seeing your photos in my inbox, esp. since we're building the same house! Its coming along really nicely. Mr BB was asking if they've sanded your floor upstairs as he was looking at the photos. (No need for restraining order - just some interested fellow Chifley builders!) How long has it taken to do the fit out? Just curious as we will be at lockup soon and I was wondering about when we might be in. The front facade is looking real nice BTW. I keep forgetting to comment to you - always looking at your blog on my mobile devices which are never logged in! Everything is nice and flat now, especially after the few months of rain the flooring was exposed to at the start of the year. In regards to fit out, i'd say a few weeks. You can see the exact dates on the 'Build Timeline' page of the blog though. I'm glad the blog is an informative tool. We kind of had the goal to create the blog for others, that we would have liked when we started but couldn't seem to find..... Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PHOTOS - 6th July 201 207Jul 10, 2014 9:50 pm Just found out our flooring is delayed - we can either wait for it to come back in stock, or pick something else. We are going to the supplier on Saturday to have a look and decide. We also did some calculations and there have been approximately 95 "activity days" on our site (counting things like file to site supervisor, portaloo delivered and other deliveries as activity) out of the 234 days of build time (if we count weekends). If we drop out Sundays it something like 200 build days, and if we don't include "delivery days" its 85 construction days. No wonder it feels like a slow process... Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - HUNDREDS of PHOTOS! 208Jul 12, 2014 6:09 am Heading out to pick the new flooring for our house today to replace the other choice we made 11 months ago.... Let's hope we are successful! Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - HUNDREDS of PHOTOS! 210Jul 12, 2014 12:13 pm lalabk Good luck, hope u find something so u don't have to delay the build. Thanks Ialabk! We had good luck indeed! We have chosen a new floor and we love it. Check out the blog for more info and photos! Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - HUNDREDS of PHOTOS! 212Jul 18, 2014 10:07 pm PCI Thursday 24th July! Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PCI Thursday 24th Jul 214Jul 21, 2014 5:06 pm We'll do it ourselves, however handover is still looking to be ages away. Jobs that we know need to be done: *Driveway and crossover to road *internal flooring (carpet and laminate) *external decking (front porch, remainder of balcony, Alfresco) *hot water system *Aircon unit *kitchen appliances *painters will need to come back after flooring to do the skirting, and perhaps another coat on the walls *flyscreens Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PCI Thursday 24th Jul 215Jul 23, 2014 8:14 pm So tonight in the dark, after my grandfathers funeral, we drive past to see: *Driveway done, crossover cut out (and road damaged) *fly screens installed *in torchlight hubby could see blue tape on the walls so someone has been through to look at the paint Supposedly flooring is booked for tomorrow. We'll see what happens! Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PCI Thursday 24th Jul 216Jul 27, 2014 11:31 am PCI Was awesome. Still the couple of outstanding jobs that we knew had to be done. Drive way was complete fly screens complete Timber laminate was started yesterday, so we assume carpet will be monday / tuesday. SS assures us that Decks are booked in for 4/8 and 5/8, these are the last things to go in due to the clear coating that will go on that can't be walked on. So handover looking to be by Friday 8/8. Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PCI Thursday 24th Jul 217Aug 01, 2014 2:36 pm Handover date set! 12th August! Re: Building the Chifley with Rawson - PCI Thursday 24th Jul 220Aug 06, 2014 4:24 pm So as we get closer to handover (3 working days away) we are still waiting for: * Stairs to be stained * Appliances to be installed, including all kitchen appliances, hot water, system, a/c and garage door opener * exterior decking to be completed. This was started on Monday and it looks like they may have run out of timber as the job is partly done and no-one has been on site today so who knows when they'll be back * site clean - there is still a pile of rubbish in the front yard, 4 pallets of bricks and roofing material in the backyard, as well as left over mortar and sand from the bricks that has solidified into a "slab" over a portion of the yard Just started the Build process for Chifley 42 with Rawson homes, will keep you all posted with the Build progress. 0 2416 Thanks for your reply. I will just wait and see I guess. Trying to get some more information from our builder. 9 29919 |
