They are moving at a massive speed ours through another builder has started to do the same surprising how quick they move when they're really going. Re: Txateu's Build - Mainvue Amalfi 532 91Oct 09, 2013 10:45 am The house looks amazing. I have a few questions about the gaps between the windows. We seem to have the same issue (we are almost at lock-up), did they install flashing afterwards? How did they seal the gap and waterproof it? Re: Txateu's Build - Mainvue Amalfi 532 92Oct 09, 2013 7:59 pm Hi Zerosignal. I agree that the saturina tile looks good but I'm convinced that the tile they delivered is different. Did you see the packagng of the tiles you had? If so, do you have any photos of the packaging? I spoke with Cosham today and they said that all Henley/Mainvue tiles are purchased through Hynes Tiles. So I contacted Hynes and they confirmed that the Saturina tiles are being discontinued and there is a 2 month wait on the last batch of the tiles. They also mentioned that the manufacturer is called "NCI Ceramics" which to me suggests that the tiles are not the same as whats been delivered Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Anyway, I'm going to go and have another look at the delivered tiles just to check. Tile on display at Cosham Re: Txateu's Build - Mainvue Amalfi 532 93Oct 09, 2013 8:04 pm Agape The house looks amazing. I have a few questions about the gaps between the windows. Ahh, they havent given us a finish date and as far as I know they haven't put flashing or waterproofing around the windows. I think that that will end up Caulking (putting silicon) around the window frame just before they hand over. Re: Txateu's Build - Mainvue Amalfi 532 95Oct 09, 2013 9:49 pm Okay so I've now taken a photo of the actual tiles and to be honest there are similarities but no where near as much texture as i expected. They look very pixelated when compared to the tile at Cosham. Now i'm not sure If I should question MV now or wait an see it when its up, at which point if I'm not happy then its kind of too late?! Very different I would question them now, they looked similar in the first photo you put up though. Re: Txateu's Build - Mainvue Amalfi 532 97Oct 09, 2013 11:15 pm Thanks zerosignal, just to clarify, The first photo I put up was of the samples at Cosham, they were the same tile side by side, they just had two on the shelf. The second set of photos are of an actual tile I borrowed from the build next to a tile with nice texture. The grey tile isn't actually a Saturina tile, but it is the kind of texturing I was expecting which is different to the Elana tile I've had delivered. Re: Txateu's Build - Mainvue Amalfi 532 98Oct 09, 2013 11:19 pm Ok, in that case I would say that the tiles are correct then based on that. The texture is there but I too originally remember it being more subtle than I first thought. Re: Txateu's Build - Mainvue Amalfi 532 99Oct 10, 2013 1:29 pm Just go the tile shop and ask for a sample of the tile you wanted. They'll give it to you. Then you can compare side by side. Different batches always look different but its much better to question it now than find out its wrong after its been laid. Its a bit strange that it has a different name on the box but who knows. I thought of that but Hynes Tiles dont have any of the tile in stock for 2 months. I'm not sure of any other company that stocks the tile. Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 8 2234 thank you! do we need to get this or our builder before we commence new build on the block? 2 4419 Hi, did you get any money from insurance? if you did, does it match what you've already paid the builders? 3 5010 |
