zub i was just thinking at handover cos when we almost bought established years ago(got out of contract) they were able to pick stuff up like missing support beams etc but you may be right they may not be able to check everything.
my sister has offered to go and check on things for us as she lives a few streets away but with 7 kids i am not sure she would have time to go and check and also not sure she would know what to look for although not sure we would either haha.
i have been looking at pendant lights on the internet today, so many to choose from, bet i cant afford them anyway. maybe if people ever want to buy us birthday presents or Christmas presents we can get bits for the house hahaha.

hachy, I was thinking of housewarming presents!!!! We have splurged on a beautiful pendant light for the entry its called Zenon 12 light pendent if you look at the Beacon Lights site. (I got it on ebay for less than half the price). I also picked up 3 silver drum shades for the spare bedrooms at Target for about $20ea!!!!

Sounds good zub.
My good news--engineering report arrived. One page referred to a different lot, but looks like it is just a wrong number rather than the wrong block of land. We have to read all of that? (I haven't a clue what they are talking about!) We'll read it on Thursday when my husband has a day off work. Then back to stressing about bathroom tiles and cupboard finishes ... doesn't get easier, does it!

I hope it does lucinda!!!! (get easier that is!). You just about need to be a builder, engineer or have a law degree to work out the paperwork! Hopefully moving in and seeing the final product (your home) will be all worth it....

zub nice pendant light, cant believe the price so glad you paid a lot less
lucinda great to hear you got your engineers report
i have to find something in ours about gardens, it reccommends something about the gardens to help stop too much movement etc but that might just be our soil not yours.
nothing new happening here, really just want to know what the go is with hubbys job and where we will be living come june.
person in HR who deals with all that is away atm

we got settlement on the land on friday
hopefully slab wont be too far away now.
hubby got an email back about his job and they said they are going to keep both him and the lady returning from maternity leave there.
i asked hubby if he thought they really would and he reckons they wont cos it will work out too expensive for them
they will probably do what they always do and give us 2 weeks notice
starting to look at pendant lights, blinds, gardens.
i had an idea set in my head for the front garden but had another look at the engineers report tonight and think we might have to modify or rethink what we want to do as the septic tank will be in the way.
what pendant lights do you prefer out of the following options???(for over kitchen bench)
i like both hahaha, both come in a 3 pendant aswell as a single.

Me neither, not much help, I like both. Perhaps I'd go for the first one as it seems less fussy, but it depends on the area and other decorations.
Fingers crossed for the job, although you don't want to be stuck there when the house is built! It'll work out for the best.
Can you put anything over the tank, like pebbles and planter boxes or pots for instance?

gee you two arent much help
lucinda our sales consultant told us that most people cover their tank with bark, pebbles etc but we dont want to.
we want to put a border around it so it is easier to find rather than scraping back bark etc to find it when it comes to getting emptied.
i think we will have to see it in person and take it from their but still have ideas of what we want in the front yard.
oh we wont be stuck here when house is built, it is more the point of having somewhere to live soon rather than later by them sending us back earlier than anticipated.

was thinking about having something like one of these for borders in the front yard.
we are thinking about 3-4 potted ficus along the front wall of the house if we can get then to stay small rather than growing big as the usually do or getting a similar style plant that wont grow as big.
also i want english box plants inside the borders. we want some lawn and a path going down the middle with an angel statue.
got no idea about the back yard but probably mostly lawn and maybe a few trees along the back fence with some bark and more borders to try and keep the dog in.
down the right side of the house i want a veggie patch and i think probably a garden shed for hubby.

Arrgghhhhh, rang hubby to see if hickies returned the call i made earlier(told them ring him as they have his mobile on file and i dont know mine) and the stress levels have just gone through the roof.
They ordered our "stuff" today but looking at 26week build:(
Think i might change my forum name to "soontobehomeless".

ps. I like both of the pendants....have you got any other chrome things in your kitchen/dining/family? If not I would go with the troy. I also like the retaining bricks with the flat edge...
