Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 09, 2013 2:53 pm After around a year of getting valuable information from others on this forum and sharing their excitement and stress of building a new home,I thought it was the right time to share our experiences.
We are doing a KDR through Wisdom Homes in the St george area of Sydney and have chosen the Aspiration 29.We have lived in the existing home for nearly 7 years and found that it was the right time to make the big decision and build. However I have posted a link to a pic of our current place a couple of days prior to demo. http://imageshack.us/a/img706/5904/imagexto.jpg I cannot find the link which will allow direct pasting of the pic on the mobile app,so please excuse me for that. Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 5Mar 10, 2013 8:38 am It looks like your block is a good size. Will be interesting to see the demo, I am sure you will probably feel strange seeing your old home dismantled bit by bit. But exciting as it is the beginning of your new home. Hope the demo goes well. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! The ground floor is on the right side. There will be very slight changes to the final plans. http://img547.imageshack.us/img547/6438/houseplans.png Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 7Mar 11, 2013 7:01 pm Your plan looks great Aheron. I like the storage section in the garage and the WIP looks huge! The WIR his and hers look a good size too, especially hers! Just check how much room you have between the end of the bench and the fridge area. We are finding we don't have a lot of room, just enough to open the fridge/freezer draw for the fridge we are planning to buy. In hindsight we probably should have had a deeper section for the fridge as well, but it is enough for a 750L fridge. We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 13Mar 13, 2013 12:24 pm Yay, Aheron now you have your thread. It's nice plan. Your plan is the newly revised plan offered by WH. It wasn't like that when I started with WH. I noticed that you also have a dwarf wall on the upper lounge area. We did the same too. Well, I'm a bit bias because I'm building an Aspiration design as well. Hope the journey goes well to you. Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 14Mar 13, 2013 12:57 pm Thanks cpaces, Yes we changed to the new plan just before contract signing..we actually wanted to do something like that from the beginning so it worked out well.. How are you progressing? Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 15Mar 13, 2013 3:58 pm We're progressing well. There's a nice surprise this week for us (you can see the post in my thread) but other than that waiting for the council approval by hopefully next week. Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 16Mar 19, 2013 9:28 pm The demolition of our place was completed today which took just over a week and roughly 5 and a half working days. Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 17Mar 20, 2013 6:30 am Congratulations, sounds like the demo went well, you are now ready for your new home build. How close to the house will the pool be? Do you need any extra piering to the house? Do you have a start date for your build? You must be feeling a bit excited now you are close to starting We built the Wisdom Majestic 40 - moved in! Our blog - http://ourwisdommajestic40.blogspot.com.au/ Our H1 thread - viewtopic.php?t=54156 Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 18Mar 20, 2013 8:18 am Thanks Onewheel We are another step closer to starting which is great! The house is going to be about 1 metre away fromt he pool in one area but in most areas it is at least 1.5-2 metres away. Due to this we have axtra piering running accross the back of the leisure area and on the left side of the alfresco area. Unfortunately we dont have a start date for the build, but from what I understand its usually ready to go by about 6-8 weeks after DA approval? So that should take us to around late April or early May. Our CSO was going to order the dilipitation report, survey and other reports today which occur after demolition, and I am hoping we can sort out final variations by the end of the week. Today is your big day!Good luck! Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 19Mar 22, 2013 8:01 pm Congratz mate on completing your demo. Your demo guy seems great and all went to plan, wished we had used him Oh well its all a learning process isn't it. Hope its full steam ahead now mate for you..Can't wait to see pics of your build Re: KDR with Wisdom Homes-Aspiration 29 20Mar 22, 2013 8:14 pm Thanks mtjiputra Looks like the final variations will be settled on Monday,so once they are signed off they can order the final construction plans...so still a bit off getting to site.. I hope your frame starts on Monday!seeing that go up will be awesome Hi, I am looking into doing a KDR in Melbourne and am contemplating using Kialla Homes. I am looking for feedback on them from others who have built with them. 0 13449 Can someone please offer some advice? Im DESPERATE. Because I'm completely and utterly exhausted.
