Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Tiling 341Oct 08, 2013 7:12 pm Thanks SCG, I am. I like the freshness of it. Yeah we couldn't get what we wanted for the splashback, so had to 'settle' but I think they've come out well. Overall the kitchen doesn't have any colour but I plan to do that with decor. Think so? You mean, diamond is more intricate and therefore more busy? I wanted to search online for some examples in such a small space. Good choice!! Splashback is a lovely grey. I like. As regards to floor tiles, I always prefer diagonals if possible - it tends to make small rooms look larger, and I think adds interest as well... Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Tiling 344Oct 08, 2013 11:40 pm Thanks AKB. I'm pretty happy. I think we matched the colour to the photo on page 10 really well in the end. Yeah after everyone suggested the navy I was getting worried about my choice but as you say I think it really goes with the lead lighting after all, I am actually for the diagonal too, also because the shower tiles are kind of dull, need SOME character. It's so beautiful, and ties in perfectly with the leadlight and exterior. As for tiles, I'd probably go diamond, too. Looking fabulous!!! Henley - Wilshire Mk 3 ... I love my house!! The splashback is a perfect foil to the gorgeous kitchen cabinets ... it's all coming together just beautifully!! If you love that front door now you will always love it - well done sticking to your gut feel. Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Tiling 350Oct 09, 2013 8:42 am Thanks Stormy. I hope you're right McLaren, hubby said much the same thing. Guess you can never really judge something til it's finished. Still I don't know why we didn't go with the same tile for the floor for the shower too. Don't think it was an option. Tiling options were pretty limited. Tiler will be really impressed we've chosen diamond (more work for him) but, I think it's the way to go. You can add a splash of colour with accessories but I don't think you need it (I adore neutrals though). I think if you were shooting for a classic kitchen you're nailing it. As for tiles, hard choice, those are the decisions that keep me up at night! lol Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Tiling 353Oct 09, 2013 12:03 pm Thanks GoneCountry and Rocky. I adore neutrals as well (obviously).
