I have a question though what made you get the drawers over normal cupboards. I'm on the fence about what to get i was thinking leave the cupboards and have those Hafele people fit it out but i must admit the drawers look a whole lot better. Are they functional as well?? Your builder seems to do amazing work. I wish I could have found something like this out in Ballarat where we are building as it is we are having to have a lot done after handover. Ceiling roses are one of those things. And lots of molding. Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is. I guess we won't fully know how functional til we're moved in. But we have nearly all cupboards where we are now & I find it annoying bending down to look in bottom shelves for heavy saucepans, etc. Personal choice I guess. We also have the walk in pantry that will allow us to store things that would normally have been in cupboards. Not sure if Highview builds in Ballarat, is it too late for you? Yeah the majority of their stuff is eastern, but we're north west. Yeah the majority of their stuff is eastern, but we're north west. Worth emailing them & asking though I might do that although i highly doubt they will come all the way out to Ballarat. Most people wont its a shame though because there is a lot of building going on out there now. More than I expected or could even imagine. But it cant hurt to check. They also do custom work which is our next option. We are not getting much trouble with our builder but what I like about yours is the fact that they seem to have a firm grasp on the classic style not just playing at it. Metricon has a lovely home that we looked at the Bordeaux but the inside is too modern. You can get it to be less modern but it requires a lot of hand holding. Simonds is a bit better because they work with farmers for the kitchen but past the kitchen they are a little slow on the uptake when it comes to things like molding and fretwork. Decorate your home. It was between them & another builder but other builder although they did custom had never done anything like that before. Plus we did a drive by of 2 finished ones in Blackburn & they look amazing. As you say we also love the interior detailing. We modified the plan somewhat, added more space overall & a sitting room upstairs. I won't say it's a cheap build though ... None of them are I learned to turn the other cheek when it comes to cost and deal with it later. We have a generous budget but I am terminally cheap. Back in America I was almost on that show extreme couponing However with the build I put myself a threshold. I won't panic until I get there. When i get there however then im going to panic. And in small ways I have managed to save like going over to Bali for french provincial furniture Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is. Ha! Yeah you've got to save where you can. I think we'll save by eating bread & butter for life! And most stores have double coupon days and sometimes triple. So a 50 cent off coupon becomes $1.50 off an item that costs $1.49 so you are ahead of the game. I have yet to be so good where I paid nothing but on the show some people have. Unfortunately my partner was against my cheapness being on TV. Decorate your home.
