I just made a large version Thanks Joh. Hubby is going to check as we got it online somewhere for when our old house was up for sale last year. Ironically they had them out the front when we bought the house, but those owners took them with them and we meant to get some, but never did til we put the house up for sale! So cannot wait. Went and did our own walk through today in preparation for the walk through with the builder on Friday. A few things to note that they should be able to rectify fairly easily, but they've indicated they'll take the full 10 days, and I think they'll need it. Lewis Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Plumbing & Securi 473Nov 22, 2013 4:08 pm Yeah if you can make them yourself, all the better. I think that was the plan with hubby, then after 6 years he decided, stuff it!! In other news, our builder walkthrough was today (aka PCI). Different for us as we've been fortunate enough to have access to the house at any time, whereas I get the impression some people only get to see it for the first time (after lock-up) at PCI. So we've had prior opportunities to note things that have needed fixing. Anyway, it went well, mostly paint touch ups which I'm sure is pretty normal, a few other things. So tradies will be booked in for next week to address. Obviously there's still a few things which are unfinished too such as appliances, plumbing, garage windows, entrance tiling ... Final hurdle at the moment is the gas connection, not mentioning any names ORIGIN ENERGY - was meant to be done 18th Nov but hasn't, and myself, hubby and the builder have all spoken to them today and gotten nowhere. As usual, no one can tell you anything So not panic stations, but also not great either, as we're hoping to move in the following week. But I won't be celebrating til that's confirmed! Now the the obscure glazing is up, I'm very disappointed! I understand side windows that look straight into neighbours' windows, but the back master bedroom windows that face the backyard? Really? What's the point of having windows? The city view is now completely blocked out. Just over it to be honest. At any rate we failed the certificate of occupancy thing because there's no ventilation in the downstairs power room (except there is a fan so go figure) and also no banister on inside stairs, which we were told we didn't need, so what needs to happen is the builder needs a letter signed by us saying we declined one. So those things are fortunately easily remedied. I'd post pictures but it's too depressing. Not the 'right' thing to do but I bet many people do it.... I'd do it! Technically yes - legally no, lol. A matter of whether you'd get found out after. Hubby is thinking of maybe just reducing the height slightly so you can still see view. Apparently this is only an issue when you are building next to existing houses and you're double story.
