Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Interior Fitout 207Aug 30, 2013 10:36 pm Thanks Lisa. I'm still really struggling to be honest, but let's not get back to that again. On that though, we've decided once we're in the new house we might get 2 Bengal kittens. I don't think I could face a big new house with no cats. Thanks to HomeAngels and Miss Marple too. Yes it is exciting to only have 8 weeks to go, tough wood. I was wrong, they weren't painting this week, sparky was doing some work and also the chippie. Will have a look tomorrow. A few issues with things we changed on variations not being done (moved/added powerpoints) so hopefully that gets rectified ASAP. I thought the outside of your home was beautiful and the inside is shaping up to be equally so. It looks amazing and very cohesive. Sometimes you see very classic houses with very modern interiors but this house is making a statement from the outside to the inside with that kitchen. I can't wait to see it finished. Yes we've tried to stay consistent. We won't have old fashioned furniture or anything like that, but not ultra modern either. Somewhere in between! Yes we've tried to stay consistent. We won't have old fashioned furniture or anything like that, but not ultra modern either. Somewhere in between! At this rate, buying new furniture is likely going to have to wait though i know the feeling. I have a prioritized list. When i started the building process I had delusions of grandeur. But now I realize just how much things cost. But with that said its not a bad wait a bit and live in the house and then decide furniture. You are doing a great job with walking the line. Its classic but not so much that i imagine an old lady with 50 cats living in it. The colors you choose for the outside bring a whole lot of youth to an older style design. It looks very New England but with a kick. The kitchen is my favorite though. At first I thought it was the weather boards.... then the stained glass you picked and now the kitchen. If you ever put it up for sale I'd likely be on my knees begging my partner for it. My partner had a look and she said your neighbors need to step up their game now Decorate your home. The house that was built next door in 2011 (also knockdown/rebuild) was an architectully designed single story, and due to the slope has rooms underneath at the back, whereas we opted just to prop the entire house up, so under the house is just dirt (potentially a future cellar). Anyway thank you and I hope you like how the rest of the house turns out. I don't like saying this, but I can't see how any architect came up with that facade on that house. To my it looks like something from 1980? Anyway - it's their house & their taste I suppose. I'll see if I have a pic. I don't. I'll take one. Let just hope he is not reading this forum! Anyway thank you and I hope you like how the rest of the house turns out. Your kidding me We assumed that it was an older 70's build. I cant see how anyone came up with that either. i mean people are tearing those style houses down because they are so dated. if you asked me to tell you what was inside i'd say faux wood laminated cupboards with orange bench tops. And fake marble tiles....maybe a pink toilet. Well that just did my head in for the day. Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is. The one on the right is not bad i would just brighten it up a bit it has levels and is more pleasing to the eye. With a nice new coat of paint and maybe spraying the roof it could be a winner. I cant see the whole of the left but to me it just looks like a red box with a red roof. Decorate your home. It gives the illusion that your life is more interesting than it really is. Re: Classic style weatherboard Melbourne - Interior Fitout 219Aug 31, 2013 1:04 pm Bluesuede lol you don't need to be creative to end up with an architectural degree Apparently not. I will say though that the house is stunning inside. You can definitely see the architectural side there. We got to have a quick look before the builder handed it over. Quality finish. Just such a shame the exterior is bland.
