Must say that the trades are all so lovely and pleasant. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 42Apr 19, 2013 8:52 pm That kind of sux that polite and pleasant trades is a surprise...Should be the norm Happy to see it going well insert<no heart flutters today> guess they can not be the above and pretty to look at...LOL Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 43Apr 20, 2013 12:01 am My kids may have been the reason for them being so nice - the kids made posters in bright colours saying "welcome to work... thank you for building our new house - you are awesome" and another one with a big bowl of lollies saying "Please take one - YOU DESERVE IT!" - plumbers came out and told me to tell the kids they said a big thank you and it was so lovely to turn up to a job and be appreciated in a small way. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 44Apr 20, 2013 12:54 am Nice but also a good way to ensure you get a top job, hats off to the kids, well done Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 45Apr 20, 2013 10:19 am That is really sweet Blond1e and might just make them take that little bit of extra care. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 46Apr 20, 2013 3:01 pm Hi Blond1e We're building with Aveling too atm. We're in Baldivis (in a new estate - Parkland Heights), and this is our second build. We went with the Kitsilano - but upspecced it heaps. I'll pop back on and give you my thread when I create it. We don't have slab down yet, but will have (bloody finally) at end of April or first week of May (have council approval, and have gone over to construction for scheduling). Very keen to watch your build unfold, as it's exciting to see how good (hopefully) your quality is. We went with Aveling primarily because they have a good rep for quality builds. Feel free to follow me and also ask any questions about how our build has gone/was done - different SS's do things differently but might give you an insight. Good luck and create that thread soon so we can read whats been happening thusfar. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 49Apr 23, 2013 6:35 pm Blond1e boooooo!! no one working on our house today - I've gotten used to having someone there every day. I on the other hand had 4 cars OH I LIKE TO REPEAT THAT.... YES 4 CARS at my house today. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 50Apr 24, 2013 12:02 pm I have been silently stalking your thread but thought it was time to start stalking publicly I love all you colour choices and your kitchen splashback looks amazing I hope the tradies return soon Our custom Gemmill Home in Bedfordale WA Build thread:https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=53788 Timeline on page 1 Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 51Apr 24, 2013 11:38 pm Thanks Soaked! Counting every day until PCI and keys handover as landlords (my sister and brother in law) have moved back to Perth and had to do so quite suddenly so they are living with us and their household of furniture has now been delivered to the house. So we're now living amongst boxes and tonnes of furniture - although they have been more than brilliant I want to get out of their hair and let them have their house back. Rushed to the house today, no one there, ran to the windows to peek through and......... WOW - throughout the whole day they'd put in 11 doorhandles!! Think all this waiting has finally frazzled my brain. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 52Apr 25, 2013 4:59 am it is the end that really seems to drag on blond1e. hoping all goes well have you booked removalists ? but you have handles we have not got that far yet we still have painters in which hoping they will be finished next week so many more tradies to come. and handover for us 10 may, i think at both houses it will be very busy Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 53Apr 26, 2013 2:03 pm 1rocky - I'm so annoyed today. Phoned the office to check when we can do PCI as hubby is flying out in just over a week and I'd like to know if he's going to be here for PCI. Went to the house today and we have had gas installation done, towel rails, insulation etc so by my reckoning its just - Paving, Garage Door, Flyscreens, mirrors, shower screens and clean that need doing and they have given us a PCI date of 18th May!!!! Is it just me being in too much of a rush or is 3 weeks a bit long to take to do those few things bearing in mind none of them take more than a day to do. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 54Apr 26, 2013 10:41 pm Hi Blond1e Duh, just found your thread and see I'm already following you! Silly me! CLO phoned yesterday while I was at my volunteer job and was so happy to inform me they had a date of 16th May for PCI - poor girl must have been shocked when I didn't sound happy at all - we only have a garage door to put on and they want us to wait a week for PCI - asked her very nicely but firmly to go back to SS and ask for an earlier appt. She was wonderful and came back a couple of hours later with MONDAY 13th May!! Can't wait but SO nervous about telling SS about all the little problems we've found - I'm going to make hubby be the bad guy Hopefully 10 days after that we will get keys. Hoping to ask if they can ensure we have keys by Friday 24th May. Oh and I think if you were really all as lovely as you seem you'd fly/drive/train/bus it down and help do our landscaping!! Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 57May 09, 2013 12:01 pm Congrats Blond1e!! That's SOOOOoooooo exciting! Monday is so soon, what a great weekend you're going to have this weekend just buzzing on that news Very happy for you and cant wait for some pics! In our current home our street tree recently carked it - and since we're selling soon we decided to buy an established tree to replace it to keep our frontage looking delicious We bought from a place called ArborWest (Wanneroo way) - and got a 4 year old chinese elm delivered and planted for less than $300. It looks great and it's made me think that when we landscape the new place we'll buy a few established trees so they look good straight away (four years is a long wait!). The cost would be less if you drove up and collected trees and planted yourself. They have lots of different trees to choose from - including frangipannis and cherry blossom, eucalypts and pear trees, maples and elms, etc... Just have to look into which one to get so the roots don't become a problem as I am so bad at gardening its a wonder even a blade of grass survives in our garden. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 60May 09, 2013 3:41 pm Yeah, I'm no green thumb either - trust me! Hence getting them to deliver and plant it I wish I was a green thumb though - I reckon it'd be very soothing to be a real gardening type. Anyhoo, any of those tree mobs are a great source of info as to what works well in your local area. They suggested the chinese elm to me as it's pretty hardy in any conditions; the only thing is that they're a bit spindly of trunk until they get very mature - so I prolly wouldn't choose this one again in the new house as I like my trees a little thicker, squatter and leafier...I'm sure I'll find something though. And I'd love a grass tree or two for the front elevation! I'm also a big fan of kerbing - I reckon it looks really neat Our thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=64272 Purchased land August '12 Titles Jan 27 '13 Prestart - Jan '13 Is it just a report written to give to the bank initially and it is based on what and how your payments are made up for, or is it a full service where they go out and… 2 5707 Skjm You might want to watch this video: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=CKx-bsOr2jg If that link doesn't work go to youtube and search for Zac Homes ACA I am really… 1 4079 What you are looking at is fibrous plaster, true gypsum, it is cast on horizontal beds with fibers included to give strength.
