Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Mar 04, 2013 11:56 pm Well i've been semi lurking for a while thinking I didn't really have the knowledge about building to contribute anything - still don't - but thought what the heck I'll give it a go!! Here's a couple of pics of the build so far. We're very excited (by we I mean - hubby, 7yo daughter, 8yo son and our dog - Bear). Still a while to go and it seems to be dragging by - although going out today to buy new furniture seems to have helped a bit. Go Aveling. Can't wait to see more pics of choices etc. Love the little windows. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 4Mar 24, 2013 11:42 pm I'm back again - this time with colour choices for the house (excuse the poor photo's - did them in a hurry in my bedroom). House is coming along good - bit slow at the moment though as the ceiling guys have really taken their time - even the whiteset guys were saying they were slow. But all in all very happy - just hope the next few weeks everyone gets a move on. So exciting seeing everyone on here - especially other Aveling builders! Colours may be a bit "safe" for alot of people but I love neutral and am hoping to jazz it up with soft furnishings. Blond1e Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 15Apr 05, 2013 12:58 am Hi Blond1e, it's looking good! Very exciting! We've signed up with Aveling too, still waiting for contracts What are the colours for your laundry bench top and cabinets? Are they pure calcite and blackened linewood? Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 16Apr 05, 2013 9:34 am What a laundry, you've gone all out. Love all the storage. WI storage cupboards are also a huge plus. its amazing what we accumulate over the years. And I'm also with you on the 'safe' and jazzing it up with soft furnishings Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 17Apr 05, 2013 2:41 pm Janicec - hope those contracts come through quick for you - waiting is just horrible isn't it. Yes Laundry cabinets are blackened linewood and benchtop is pure calcite - you must have all your colours etc memorised by the sounds of it Got to site today and they'd done the Grano and painters were painting up a storm so lets hope we keep moving like this. Re: Blond1e's new Aveling home in Mandurah 18Apr 05, 2013 5:25 pm Thanks Blond1e! Yes we've been staring at those colour samples for a few days now. We were going to go with the pure calcite/blackened linewood combo for our laundry, bathroom and ensuite, we're wondering if the blackened linewood might be too dark. You rescued us!! Yours look great!! I do hope we get our contracts soon, it's been 5 weeks since we signed up. Looking at Happytaurus's thread, I wouldn't expect that to happen any time soon. Good to hear things are moving along nicely for you. Look forward to seeing more pics, it's looking really good!!
