Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1001Aug 28, 2014 9:44 pm There are trees on Stables not Moorhen st, my bad. I heard prices are $30k up from last release so 480k for the 650sq. Wonder how quick these ones will sell. We are building a Mac Jones on Moorhen 650sq block. Just waiting for registration to progress Building Havana MJH Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1002Aug 29, 2014 6:48 am Morning neighbours, Welcome back Thehoffs, congrats on your recent wedding how beautiful. Yes it's great to have some action on the forum once again...it was a little too quiet for me so hope to see some old and some newbies checking in from time to time. I hope the next stage goes well for you then you too will be on your way to building your new dream home. What design and builder have you chosen? Paul, the blocks in the new release will be approx $438,888 to $493,888 and the blocks are 550 to 768m2, so yes 480k for a 650m2 block sounds about right. I seem to think that the new release will do very well and will sell quite quickly. What Mac jones home have you chosen, we built a modified 'chesterfield Elite' which is sadly no longer available but all of their homes are beautiful and finished off well. Good luck with it all when it happens I look forward to watching your progress. Feel free to ask any q's I'd be only to happy to answer if I can. I'm in the beginnings of adding a page to my blog with Q's and A's that helped me get through our build so feel free to take a look....or just take a look anyway lol. Enjoy your day everyone, bye for now Michelle Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1003Aug 29, 2014 8:09 am Hi Michelle we are building a wisdom serenity slightly modified. Can't wait to begin. I figured that the blocks would rise about $30000 seems about right. I was looking at your blog Michelle and it is spectacular how do you find the time to do all of that hahaha. Our house currently is very Asian inspired so can't wait to come see all your decor etc Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1004Aug 29, 2014 10:00 am Ahhhhhh, so your a Wisdom Serenity builder too just like Mag571...woohoo! Oh, I was thinking that I was the only one who likes an Asian feel, so happy to know another...yay! Haha, find the time....I get so bored being a stay at home mum after the boys go to school and the house work is done, that's if I don't go shopping or visiting friends and all, what better way to pass the time than to write an entry in my diary (blog) about what we do with our build. As I've said before to Mag571, we built our last home with Wisdom and found them to be fantastic so I'm sure you will have a great experience too. Having such a wide block this time, called for a single story and unfortunately Wisdom's designs didn't suit our needs. Thank you for your kind words, it's so nice to hear that people both like what we have been able to achieve with both the designing and decorating of our home and in turn, inspire you to create your very own 'Oasis'. Feel free to ask any questions, I'm only too happy to help. Feel free to knock on the door (I'm usually always home and the kettle's always on) and come and see it in person, it'd be lovely to meet you. Good luck with everything I hope you have a wonderful experience. I look forward to watching your progress. Michelle Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1005Aug 30, 2014 10:45 pm Hi everyone, We too have secured a block in Moorhen st and are just waiting for registration to happen. We were so excited to go out there last weekend to see we had a road, a street sign AND we could drive around and walk on the block rather than only looking through the fence! We have signed tenders with Wisdom and are also building a Serenity 28! Looks like there will be a few in the street but am sure they will all look VERY different. We are building on a 550sqm block. We are so excited to be building our first home together and can't wait to meet the neighbours! Maybe all the Wisdom builders should get together and compare notes. haha I heard there are 5 or 6 Wisdoms that will be built from the last release. Mark 650sqm on Moorhen St...Wisdom Serenity 28 Ext Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1007Aug 31, 2014 4:58 pm HI Steve & Leonie, nice to have you on board the building bus hehe. Welcome to the neighbourhood, I hope you find everything your looking for in terms of answers to many of your questions that you can ask away here. We're all here to help if we can no matter what builders we've used. Congrats on securing your block, it's ever so exciting to be building a brand new home though somewhat overwhelming at the same time. I'm sure you will enjoy the experience no matter what hurdles you may come across (if any), we built our last home with Wisdom and I can honestly say our experience was brilliant all the way through. Needless to say, our 1st time experience with MJH was just as good. Good luck with everything, I look forward to watching your progress and perhaps meeting you one day. Michelle Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1009Aug 31, 2014 8:15 pm Hi All I also secured a block in Moorhen street. I love the feel of the estate on my drives out there and I agree with Steve and Leonie it certainly was exciting to find that you could drive on the road! I too have signed with Wisdom for a Serenity house; however I will be building the Serenity 26 rather than the 28. I received my plans back on Friday which was exciting I popped into Wisdom on Saturday to see the display home as I went through my plans and was told by Lisa (who signed me up) that she has done tenders for 4 houses in total in Moorhen Street and between all the consultants they think there is 6 to 8 Wisdom houses going to be built in Moorhen Street!!! I can’t wait for the land to settle now so I can get building as I can’t wait to move out there. A couple of questions: Can anyone recommend an electrician? What did people do for lights, did you get the builder to put them in or do them post hand over? Mag 57l - I saw on facebook on the Vermont site that all the blocks sold today. Cheers Carla Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1011Sep 01, 2014 6:52 am Hi Carla, Welcome to our forum and congrats on your signing up with Wisdom...wowsers they're certainly giving MJH a run for their money as you might be aware...they pretty much dominate the estate and my own build being one of them! Have you got a settlement date as yet? Re lights: what do you have in mind, if it's down lights you could pay to have extra batten holders (bayonets) put in, and then swap for down lights later...we did in our last build and it was sooooo much cheeper as we had around 80 down lights. If it's pendant lights, you can put them in post hand over too. Good luck with your build, I look forward to watching your progress Michelle Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1012Sep 01, 2014 7:45 am Hi Carla How exciting to have your plans back we can't wait to get our back also. My dad is an electrician so feel free to contact me if you like but I will be doing mine after handover and just getting wisdom to put in extra bayonette fittings like Michelle said. Are you building on a 550 block?? Can't wait to start. Registration will possibly be in October as I found out the other day that all the blocks that sold on Sunday will be also registered at the same time. Stef Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1013Sep 01, 2014 7:48 am Good morning neighbours, Well it was another great success at the VIP release day for The Meadows yesterday with all blocks being sold. A huge congratulations to those who were lucky enough to secure a block of land, I have no doubt that you will love being a part of the Vermont community and wish you a very successful build. A big thank you to everybody for jumping on the forum once again...you've stopped me from going around the bend by talking to myself I look forward to talking with you all in person one day bye for now have a wonderful day Michelle Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1015Sep 01, 2014 12:18 pm Hi All. Exciting update from us. We had our PCI last week and we settle this Wednesday. Moving in this coming weekend. Still so much to do in the landscaping side and a few internal things but looking forward to finally having our own place again! Woo hoo! Fernville - Stage 3, Pitt Town. Sheffield 27 with Eden Brae Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1017Sep 01, 2014 1:38 pm O_jay did you build the Sheffield? Sorry I can't remember. Congrats on your PCI! Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1018Sep 01, 2014 3:37 pm Definitely up for a meet and greet Stef what a top idea and now that the weather is getting warmer...cocktails at mine sounds like a damn good plan!!! Massive congrats O_Jay so happy for you, that's such good news how exciting woohoo another neighbour to get to know. Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1019Sep 01, 2014 10:26 pm Thanks for the replies. A meet and greet sounds like a wonderful idea. Stef yes I am building on a 550 block and I heard that our street plans went to council on Friday. So I would think settlement on land early october:-) Michelle I am looking at mixture of pendant lights, fans with lights and oyster type lighting. At this stage not planning on down lights. But it sounds like it's best to just put bayonet and then change light after handover. Re: Anyone building in the Vermont Estate at Pitt Town? 1020Sep 01, 2014 11:04 pm I spoke to Aaron today. He said plans are lodged with council now. Once they come out the fences will go down and they will allow builders on site to do site and soil samples. Then it will go to land titles for registration. He said rego would be in about 4 weeks then settlement 1-2 weeks after that. Mark 650sqm on Moorhen St...Wisdom Serenity 28 Ext Wish you all the best.
