Question is to what extent this is necessary ….what are your experiences in this regard…is it justified? is it more a nice to have feature or is it better to get it done at this stage and can't be done later? any thoughts/comments appreciated. If you really want floor to ceiling, then get it done now. Much easier to get it done now. thanks….my question is I'm not sure to what extent this is necessary over a 1.8mt height tiling that's being offered as part of the builder inclusions? Easy to envision if you know the height of your ceilings? Is that 1.8m all round? that's more than most builders, who just offer tiled skirting. Re: Who else is building at Oran Park? 4612Jul 02, 2015 7:33 am rk7 I'm going for 2.7mt ceiling…builder offering is 1.8mt in shower areas with tiled skirting to rest…is it worth going for upgrade to ceiling now? If I was you I would google images of both tiling options. See which one is more attractive to you. I chose the tiling upgrade. I think it just comes down to personal preference. Hey BB, Drove past OP last night. I noticed you had a garage door. Cant be far off completion. We were quoted a ridiculous amount to do this for our three bathrooms. We opted for doing it after handover. We will purchase the tiles when it gets a bit closer to tiling so we get the same batch. Only thing u need to remember is if u choose the standard cornices when u tile to the ceiling after handover, the tiles may be thicker than the depth of the cornice and protrude. We chose the Cairo 3 step cornice which is actually quite deep so the tiles thickness won't protrude if that makes sense. Re: Who else is building at Oran Park? 4617Jul 02, 2015 9:16 am That's wat I'm doin. I've done it in my current home and u can't even pick it. The only thing I recommend to upgrade is the skirts around the room. If ur going to go all the way up upgrade to a full tile not the cut one so u don't have to pull them off Re: Who else is building at Oran Park? 4619Jul 02, 2015 11:11 am Antoinette_4137 Brahma Bull Your solicitor will call you the day they find out from land titles. (Pretty sure that was your place) Yeah mate we have a walk-through in 3 weeks, so handover should be just after that. Slight hiccup today as we had to re-select our flooring (I kid you not..) as the flooring place screwed up, but we're on the home run now. $395 Fixed Priced Landscape Plans for DA M: 0435 127 244 | W: bluegumdesign.com.au | E: info@bluegumdesign.com.au Residential | Commercial | Industrial Re: Who else is building at Oran Park? 4620Jul 02, 2015 3:27 pm Just fyi, I am quoted approximately $700 extra for floor to ceiling in both shower areas(only shower and not complete bathrooms). However, I will go with the standard inclusion and get this done post handover. I've heard the popular std tiles usually are out of stock by the time your building starts and its best to keep a backup tile as an option. A survey must’ve completed by a certified surveyor.
