Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 27, 2013 3:29 pm I would like to lay white tiles 300x600 gloss through the ensuite in a verticle brickwork pattern floor and wall. Has andybody laid 300x600 tiles with the heigh being 600 and the width as 300? The person I am going to buy them off said it looks bigger laid horizontal (look bigger). I thought it would look cool verticle but I havnt seen any pics of it layed this way. Re: laying 300x600 white tiles verticle 2Feb 27, 2013 3:36 pm I have my 600x300 tiles laid vertically, but no brick pattern. I'm not a fan of them being laid horizontally, however if laid in a brick pattern then it looks ok to me. I'm also going to lay them vertically in my new house, I'm also using the same tile for floors and walls, tiled to the ceiling. Laying them horizontally is a newish trend in the past 5-6 years. I think it will go out of fashion. Re: laying 300x600 white tiles verticle 3Feb 27, 2013 3:36 pm Sorry can't help you I have white tiles in the ensuite pics on my post (our Hartley build) might give you an idea of what they look like the other way. Re: laying 300x600 white tiles verticle 4Feb 27, 2013 4:04 pm Not quite exactly the same but in my recent bathroom reno I had 250 x 500 ivory tiles laid vertically. I also agree with JB1 that having them vertical is more traditional & horizontal is more likely to date. The ensuite was tiled by a tiler in his 50's, the poolhouse was done by a young guy in his 20's - I like both so I left it up to them LOL. Some things are worth waiting for. How are you guys blending the wall/ceiling juncion? I will try find it through you pics. We are getting the 600 x 300 gloss white and using on kitchen splashback too, as well as bathrooms. Haven't decided whether to go floor to ceiling in bathrooms - what is the advantage? Re: laying 300x600 white tiles verticle 9May 19, 2013 3:46 pm Builder standard was lay them horizontal. Didn't even think to have them vertical. If I was doing floor to ceiling id def do vertical though. Re: laying 300x600 white tiles verticle 11May 19, 2013 11:17 pm Ours are horizontal.
