Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 20, 2013 8:44 pm Hi everyone, Mum and I have just signed with Fairmont homes but things are not going as they explained. They were very helpful at the start but now we signed that's no longer the case. I want to know if anyone else out there has had the same issues? and has any advice to make this process easier between both parties. Maybe someone we can get in touch with or something. They changed their minds in two things we agreed on prior to contract. 1- that there will no need to do the retaining wall prior to building and 2- that no one can install the pool until all paperwork is done. We have no problem with that but they can not explain what the process involves or how long it might take. Thanks all in advance Re: Building with Fairmont Homes??? 2Mar 24, 2013 1:50 pm As for retaining, do it now. Cheaper when they have access. My build is on hold until council approval for walls to be done. Neighbour needs them in first. We were told later and I wish they had warned us earlier. At least that way I could of put in application ages ago and not wait. Do your app now. Just contact the office and get through to construction. Ask for references and speak to them. If they are defensive or try to avoid the request, walk. 1 74701 I would never build with Fowler homes. I built with them in 2021 and till date maintenance issues are pending.
