Welcome to the neigbourhood. Good look with the move. Will maybe see you around the area soon. X Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 3818Aug 31, 2014 1:57 pm well, that move was so exhausting! I felt more exhausted than having 4 labours! but the view out our bedroom window last night and this morning was worth it I've been sick, so by 3pm i was curled up in a ball on the lounge with the header and blankets all on me with a temp. the removals damaged a few things and tore the lino in the rental place. they were rough with our things and with their attitude. one guy kept saying the F word around the kids. then they got real annoyed they had to wait cause we didn't have all the money at the end and hubby had to go get some cash out. (as we didn't know how many hrs they'd take). Their boss had told me to pay the minimum amount in cash then and he would send me an invoice with the rest and i could pay via credit card. But these guys said thats not what they were told. They took an hr to drive the truck from Mangerton to Brooks Reach, does that sound reasonable? i would think 30 mins 40 tops! i think they had a break which is fine but they were so dishonest by saying they didn't and they didn't rip the lino. I HATE dishonesty. So for those who are moving, make sure you have good communication with your removals from the get-on and don't use Daves Removals. Anyway on a positive note. I'm loving our new home. We are a bit squished with our furniture (excuse to buy new stuff ) it's soooo quite and peaceful. I feel like i'm in a holiday house and it's not really ours (the bank statement reminds me otherwise though ) So glad to be in and on this end of the move now. Just have to clean the rental and hope to get our bond back. Really looking forward to meeting all the present and future neighbours!!!! But I'm glad you're finally in and I hope you recover very soon so you can start doing all the fun stuff like decorating and making your house a home can't wait to see some pics once you're settled in Hi, Apologies - I know there is plenty out there on this but struggling to put together the puzzle.
