Yes, all I can do is laugh, because there is nothing else we can do about it, I said whatever - where do I sign just so we can get bloody started Good attitude, sweetheart all will pay off in the end. As you said you're still building within your means and you have enough time to adjust your budget for anything else that may come your way. Hurry up and move in already; Hubby and i need walking buddies to join us at 6am around the estate :p Have a great Australia day weekend everyone!! Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2127Jan 24, 2014 5:17 pm Hi all, It's been a while since I've posted, trying to catch up on posts lately! Fantastic news that some of you have moved in, some have started construction, and welcome to all the new builders in our little community! I'll give a quick update on where we are up to with Masterton. So far we are still waiting on our plans to come back from the drafting department, so they haven't been lodged with council yet (been waiting since the beginning of December ) We have had our appointments for tiles, carpet, timber flooring, alarms, kitchen structure so that's all done and dusted. So far we are just waiting for our Colour Selection appointment which is in about 10 days. Other than the house building adventure, we got married in October (it was lovely!), had an awesome honeymoon, moved back home with my parents, and I got a new job. So been quite busy! I'll do a blog update soon with some pictures for you all Building at Brooks Reach, NSW -- Sonata with Masterton Homes Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2128Jan 24, 2014 7:11 pm Rubyam Nat84 I heard back from our CLO about the costs of our drop edge beam etc...our site costs have now just gone up by almost $9K LOL! Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2129Jan 28, 2014 8:25 am Sturina Hi All, long time reader first time poster. In reply to Nat84, Basix usually seems to take a week by the builders. when we went through I was fed up with the delays and did it myself online using the information in my contract and plans and it only took 90 minutes. When I pointed this out to the builder it was done by them the next day. Just read back through this and saw your post Sturina! Firstly, welcome to the thread, nice to see yet another person building out at BR also, thanks for the info about the BASIX, I have heard off a few others now that it can take a week or so, hopefully we'll have it all sorted very soon. Which stage are you building in, and have you chosen a builder yet? Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2130Jan 28, 2014 8:13 pm No probs Nat. We have actually already built in stage 2 but didn't find this forum until after we moved in. we're on Mallon so it's still exciting when I see a truck with earth moving equipment or fences go past thinking somebody else's build is starting. Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2131Jan 29, 2014 4:20 am K + J Hi Guys just a quick post as there are a few of us nearing construction. We were advised by MJH to have our block as neat and tidy as possible, yes this includes mowing the lawn. I sent hubby out a couple of weeks ago in the stinking heat to mow ours and both of us were surprised that it took 2 hours. My new neighbour (back neighbour) on block 814 has just had her's mowed and it only cost her $40 (ride on) for a vacant block. Below are the guys details incase any of you are interested in helping out hubby by him not having to mow your block A Cut Above Lawn Care - Steve 0400 527 537 or 0401 350 453. Can't complain really $40 is fantastic if you ask me. Wish I had of known earlier but I am hoping we won't have to use him because if we do that means there has been a delay with our build Hi guys just want to thank you for posting the name and number of this guy. He came out to cut my sons lot yesterday. What a lovely man. We did have a few dramas has the builder next door had left his bigger on our block so he will have to come back to finish the job. He was really cool about this and understood it wasn't our fault. I'm sure this shouldn't have happened and my son is trying to get I touch with the site manager from next door but all good. The grass got cut and all for $40. Bargain. Thanx again for the number and info. Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2132Jan 29, 2014 8:40 am Sturina No probs Nat. Awww so you're one of the lucky ones who is already living there who did you end up building with? Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2133Jan 29, 2014 12:32 pm Good news for us. Been advised we are now number 3 on the construction list. Our contract is being sent from head office to South Coast office tomorrow/Friday and our block should be scaped and cleared on Monday/tuesday ready for peiring on Wednesday. About freaking time!!!!! Have any of you had the builder on the lot next to you cut over into your block and put it all on your land? I've just reached lock up stage and the house next to me is pretty much finished. When I went out today and had a lock the builder next door has cut about 30 cm into my lot and put it all the dirt on my lot. It did look like they might have had a few broken pipes that need replacing, but I wasn't too happy to see them cut so far into my side. They have drawn a line where the boundary is so you can see that they have crossed over and a fair way over. I will email my builder tomorrow to find out what they know but wondered if anyone else has had this happen. Cheers, Kate Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 2139Jan 29, 2014 6:54 pm So we are just looking over the plans to make sure there is nothing else we want to change and we are thinking of ceiling height, we have left it standard which is 2440mm but what has everyone else done?
