Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1988Dec 26, 2013 7:16 pm Where is your NBN box located? I believe theirs will be in the garage which will have a phone port as far as I am aware so I guess we just connect a modem/router to that and away we go Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1989Dec 26, 2013 8:22 pm led-zep Where is your NBN box located? It's all looking like it's coming together nicely and great job on those blinds by the way! I would not have known they were DIY you guys have done very well Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1991Jan 02, 2014 1:04 pm Just wanted to throw out to people thinking about getting/upgrading a wireless router with their NBN. They still sell a lot of "N" wireless routers, but you probably want to look for "AC" which is the more recent standard and has significantly better capacity. Under the right conditions, the wireless (802.11) ac routers and receivers can get you better bandwidth than a wired gigabit connection. Also if you are thinking about getting VOIP phone service instead of a regular phone line but don't want to have to buy new phones, you'll want to look for an ATA (analog telephone adapter) which lets you use your internet connection for placing your phone calls. Our provider offers VOIP service for about $5/month so it's cheaper for us than getting a regular bundled phone line and the ATA lets us hook up the security system and our old cordless phones. Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1992Jan 05, 2014 6:40 am There was lots of action down in stage 8a (I think) yesterday. A few blocks were being excavated ready for piering to commence. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1993Jan 05, 2014 11:07 am Kylez+Mitch2 There was lots of action down in stage 8a (I think) yesterday. Hopefully that will be us soon enough Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1994Jan 05, 2014 2:06 pm hope everyone has had a lovely Christmas!!! Wiz your place looks beautiful!!! lovin' those blinds. we are defiantly going to go with them too! I have no idea whats going on with out CLO. After asking whats happing on the 13th Dec she said there was a hick-up with ours but she was getting it sorted. far out, what else? Still have had no communication to know whats going on! we haven't even received the final plans after requesting to see them before they went to P/C, just hope they were all correct now! I'll contact our CLO this week to see whats happening. I hate it that it's always me following her up to ask whats happening. Not once has she contacted us with an update! But surly it's all going to start by the end of the month Building the Nova with MJH http://thehousethatj-lbuilt.blogspot.com.au "When you are arguing against Him, you are arguing against the very power that makes you able to argue at all." Oh well, if that's the worst case of dumping we have to deal with, I'm happy. =] Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1996Jan 06, 2014 4:13 pm Someone did that to us too Madam im Adam - I dont see why people just dont leave the catcher off. ____________________________________________ Building the Altona Media Entertainer with Allworth Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1997Jan 07, 2014 9:26 am Kylez+Mitch2 There was lots of action down in stage 8a (I think) yesterday. Hey Kylez, I went for a drive down there yesterday and saw that! 3 x blocks in stage 8a, all MJH which gives me a bit of hope knowing they are still working during this quiet time Sorry to hear about your delays Joh - with a bit of luck hopefully they will be able to start on your block very soon, keep us posted Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1998Jan 07, 2014 10:04 am This won't affect any of us, but just think how much time (and cost) it would shave off the process of building a home in the future. http://innovation.uk.msn.com/design/the ... n-24-hours Re: Building in Brooks Reach - Community Thread 1999Jan 07, 2014 10:17 am robguy This won't affect any of us, but just think how much time (and cost) it would shave off the process of building a home in the future. http://innovation.uk.msn.com/design/the ... n-24-hours Wow, that is so cool! We have a 3D printer at work that a few people have used and I was amazed by that technology (and I'm in IT, but so not a geek! ) How brilliant would that be in the future!?
