Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Feb 20, 2013 8:11 pm Hi, I am as my name suggests a first timer as well. Lodged an application with Baulkham Hills for building and still awaiting the approval even after 7 weeks, I am worried (do I need to?) can someone tell me the process , there is nothing in the council website telling me about the time it takes for approvals...any help? Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 2Feb 21, 2013 10:46 am Are you able to ring council and ask them about your application? There is no harm in asking. We went through a private certifier and it took about 6 weeks. The online tracking on the council website should tell you who is reviewing your DA and this will also have their contact details. You can call them to enquire. I did this for mine. Cheers, Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 4Feb 21, 2013 8:31 pm Hi, Thank you both very much. I enquired with them and all they said is that "sometimes it will take that long" that's it I guess I don't have an option but just to wait? Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 5Feb 21, 2013 10:17 pm The average is 4-8weeks but definetely check the council website as it will show you progress. Your application could be on stop the clock, which means they need more information. Majority of applications seem to get a stop the clock notification. You don't even need your application number to check, you can check by address Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 6Feb 22, 2013 10:01 am Thank you gogo..I checked the website , it says Evaluation and it's been like that from 11/2 onwards. there is no entry on "stop the clock". I don't understand what the D and P's means in front of each item. Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 7Mar 06, 2013 9:43 pm checked with the council and they were sitting on it for a while and I had to call actually to "move" them. Not sure if that is the case with all, but only after my contact they updated the website. more than 9 weeks and still waiting ... Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 8Mar 13, 2013 9:21 pm Finally after nearly 8-9 weeks the approval was through, am sure someone was sleeping over that Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 9Mar 15, 2013 6:57 am We went CDC to avoid that. It has its pluses and minuses though. Re: Baulkham Hills Council Approval Period 10Apr 29, 2013 3:48 pm Thanks @daveinthehills, our approval finally came throug and yes the council was sitting on for about 3 months. I don't know why BW went to council instead of CDC, after that BW took another week or two for their internal processing..and now signed up with them last week Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11015 Hi Minho I have heaps of experience in Ku-ring-gai with both DAs and CDC ( this is the main area we build in).
