I'll just do some research and figure it out myself. FirstRate5 is one of them but as stated it does cost money and it is not something that you are going to learn overnight. FR4 and FR5 have never been free to download. The software only rates the thermal performance of the envelope being the construction materials of house. It will not give you a guide to you utility usage etc. Re: Energy rating 7Mar 19, 2013 12:56 pm Give yourself a point for: Aspect; Roof Insulation; Window coverings; Wall insulation; LED Lighting; Solar power - Electric and/or water. Maybe 2 if you are especially good in Aspect. Then - 6 is good/great. Less than this is still OK. Older houses might only get 1 or 2 if that. Yes these are all good items to consider when looking at the overall efficiency of a house. However window coverings, LED Lighting and solar Power/Water have nothing to do with a mandatory star value. go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 98101 |
