Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our build with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, South Australi 41May 21, 2013 9:22 pm Thanks everyone. That is fantastic to hear. Just want our house haha. I think I need t chase them up about selections stuff though. From my understanding, the footings come, then the bank pack which includes the selections info telling you to make appointments but as you may remember we got our bank pack before the footings so I thought maybe that stuff would come with the footings. Or maybe they're intending on sending it when they let us know it has gone to council? I will check with them I guess cause apart from actually getting the house that is the most exciting part. We got our bank pack after engineering and there was a note in with our bank pack saying we could book selections. That was shortly followed by another big envelope with the plans to take to selections. We also got a copy of our final plans to make our final changes. Plus another letter after that to confirm our exterior colour selections. Oh and another letter to say that plans had gone to council. I reckon you could book your appts now. They book you in for a months time and you will have all the right paperwork by then. One house related, the other just a proud parent moment. We found a Fairmont sign on our block yesterday. http://s1287.photobucket.com/user/tasha ... sort=3&o=1 The other is my daughter came 1st, 2nd and 3rd (in different dances) in her very first calistenichs competition. We have a selections sheet for our exterior AGAIN and this time it has mortar on it. I am not sure what natural or brighton lite mortar etc looks like and not sure where to find out. We weren't given any info on where to look at that. Any idea where I can get a look to see what each looks like to make a decision? Building the Leabrook with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, SA. Congrats on your selections appointments first off Natural mortar is like a grey, elephant grey kind of colour... the Brighton Lite is more of a beige/tan/pale creamy light yellow, like sand. Depends on your brick colour and what type of facade you're having as to what one will look the best. There is one at Richmond and another at Golden Grove. We are having brighton lite mortar mixed with white sand to give an even whiter look. As deluxes says it depends on what brick colour you are having and whether you want the mortar to stand out as to which one you pick, bit like grout Re: Our build with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, South Australi 55May 28, 2013 1:59 pm Take a look at Sammymacs thread on her first page there a pic from the display centre. Pretty sure it's the natural mortar on the top and Brighton lite on the bottom half Site Works 9/5/13 Slab 4/6/13 Frame 4/7/13 Fascia/Gutters 10/7/13 Windows 11/7/13 Roof 24/7/13 Gyprock 13/8/13 Lock up 26/8/13 Bricks 2/9/13 Kitchen 11/9/13 Tiling 28/9/13 Re: Our build with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, South Australi 56May 28, 2013 9:54 pm Thanks so much everyone. My better half has Friday off work so that is how we shall spend our day Tried to make our selections appointment with Direct Interiors (as some may know we have to go there before Supreme Kitchens) and apparently the lady who makes the appointments is not in her office very much so I haven't been able to make it! Went and did some pre-selections today. Mind you we STILL have not been able to get in contact with the selections lady at Direct Interiors who is apparently ALWAYS busy and NEVER returns calls. Not quite sure why someone else wouldn't be making the appointments (isn't that what a receptionist is for?) if you're always busy grrrrrr. My head hurts and while I thought I had most of my stuff picked I still have sooo much to decide. Also ha a heartbreaking moment lol. We were in Supreme Kitchens and we found an amazing poly gloss sample and thought they would make amazing benchtops in our bathrooms and would go well with the cabinets which will be white polygloss (as it looks like 2 pac for half the price) only to find out you cannot have them as benchtops wahhhhhhh they're amazing. http://s1287.photobucket.com/user/tasha ... a.jpg.html http://s1287.photobucket.com/user/tasha ... sort=3&o=1 Building the Leabrook with Fairmont Homes in Mallala, SA.
